It's a real burden being right so often.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yes, it's that time of year when my definition of 'cold' undergoes severe recalibration. Yesterday, barely in the 20s, I wore a t-shirt & a sweater, with a hoodie thrown over it out to the store. Two months ago I would have been bundled like an Eskimo.

(Yes, there were pants and shoes involved.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

It is 15 here, and I am SO HOT!!!

I think the heat in the office has finally kicked in, though.

No imaginary boyfriend showed up, so sadly I am at work.

I think the thing that bugs me most about my boss is that he assumes conspiracy and the worst from people ALL.THE.TIME. And it is all people, his employees, his bosses, his peers - EVERYONE. He sees an action and he makes up (and performs for you) this whole scenario of what the person thought or said to get there - usually involves the person being lazy or wanting to do a favor for someone NOT HIM, or being stupid. So belittling and screwed up.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So belittling and screwed up.

People like that should not be in management. How does that help the company at all?

So maybe he is not wrong! Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean everyone isn't out to get you!

Seriously, I have no idea how some people become bosses.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

One year positions are the devil. If I had 3-5 years experience at something, I would only apply for a one-year position if I were desperate.

I know, it's true. I think we're going to end up using the money for a consultant instead.

I mean, I had a boss who was rude and mean to us when we made mistakes (seriously, she would send us feedback emails cc-ed to the whole department saying things like, "You should know this by now, and it makes us look stupid when you forget it"), which also isn't awesome for the company, but at least it wasn't flat-out paranoia and made-up conspiracies (because we did indeed make mistakes, because everyone makes mistakes [including ex-boss, who would fly into a rage if we ever tried to point out even one of her MANY mistakes]).

oh yeah, DO NOT point out a mistake to him. I challenge him, but only backed up with facts and proof, so if he didn't need me, I am sure he would be working to get me out.
