Happy birthday, Suzi!

I have laundry going and soup bubbling away. That, plus watching televised sports on tv, will probably be the extent of today's accomplishments.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

meara, I just saw that article. Bully for her, especially for pointing out that AOL had really good profits this year (and thus no reason to cut back their 401K). I know that startup capital is really important for businesses and this is why we have investors, but I really get resentful about the way shareholders are prioritized over the people who are actually making the business run on a day-to-day basis. Like, there ought to be employee representation on the board to point out the impacts their decisions would have on employee welfare and retention.

In other news, I have finished my editing project. Now I need to get off my ass, climb out of these sweats, put on a bra, walk the dogs, visit my dad, compile paperwork, and go to a vid party (we're watching Festivids). And then go to bed extra early so I can pick up Dad at 5AM to go to the hospital for his surgery.

ARGH.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(Am glad you all knew which of the "you"s in my earlier post was supposed to be "do.")

Curtains hung! I forgot I do have one more thing on the to-do list, and that is wash the old curtains I took down. Meh.

Birds are fed, birdseed put into its proper containers, dryer still going. 2-3 more loads waiting for the washer and that's it for laundry, that sounds doable. it's about time to move some dishes around. Also lunch. what shall I have for lunch? Hm.

Happy birthday, Suzi!

Aren't you glad I decided to share my exciting life?

My life has been way too exciting lately, so I'm down with the boring right now. I went to Target and now I'm back at home in my pajamas with cauliflower roasting in the oven. I may play Candy Crush.

what do I wear for temperatures in the 40s? Light sweater/heavy shirt and wool coat, right?

I don't know, dude. I wore a long-sleeved T-shirt and a wool coat out earlier and it was 11F, so I think this winter has warped me.

I was out with no coat for a little bit myself, but it is in the 20s. And the sun was out!

YES. Because it's one thing to say "the company didn't do well this year, and we're in a recession so we don't anticipate next year being great--we're going to cut the dividend to shareholders and require employees to pay more for their benefits". It's a WHOLE OTHER thing to say "the company did better this year than the past four, and we're going to give the CEO a $6 million dollar bonus, so in order to afford that we're going to cut the employees' 401ks, which is totally cool because other companies are doing it too!"

Long sleeves and a light jacket? Depends on if it's low 40s or high 40s?

Happy birthday, Suzi!

I know that Jillifonts are not lurking around to scare me, but if they show up in the house, they fall victim to the House o' Reason Trap & Release OUTSIDE program. Which is run by Pete, because my role in this is to hide in a different room and twitch.

SNOW. Which means Seattle has shut down, because Seattle has hills and very little infrastructure for dealing with snow. Me, I'm going to go play.
