Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Are you doing anything, or postponing celebration til you are more mobile?
I'm mobile in small doses. Had a great bunch with a couple of great gals. I had a Parisian Benedict - basically a croissant, shaved ham, swiss, egg, hollidaise aka NOM.
Now I'm chilling and resting my foot before I go out for dinner with CJ, B, and KCD. Not sure where we are going, they just told me to be ready at 6pm.
Sadly, I think I'm going to do some work this afternoon to try to get caught up on being out last week.
Oh, wow. I might have been better off not knowing that Parisian Benedict is a thing, since I cannot have one right now. That sounds incredible. Have a lovely dinner, and I hope work is not too onerous.
Boy, a lot of people buying computers at Best Buy do not know much about computers. A woman was buying a wireless printer, and she was like, "So, can we get cables for it?" and the salesperson was like, "Um, it is *wireless*, but if you want cables I am sure we can find some...".
The thing Dillo wanted most in Best Buy was a $400 fan. This amuses me.
Those fans are pretty nifty, I must say.
Halfway through the laundry pile! But yes, lunch, I should lunch. Seeing as it is nearly two. Teppy's coconut oil oatmeal apparently really did keep me fuller longer.
Partly because then I'd have to buy all new cords with the stupid new charger thing.
That is such a good point. Hmmm.... I'm way past renewing my contract at AT&T. And I'm driving cross country this summer (which means hesitant to switch to, oh, say, t-mobile for coverage issues). I'm also grandfathered into unlimited data...but...I'm tired of paying $89 a month. I need someone who has more brain space for this than I do to figure this shit out.
meara, my issue with Armstrong's statement is that AOL didn't pay for her care. The insurance plan did. And while it may have raised the premiums for AOL, so did the guy with cancer, the woman with hypertension and the person with clinical depression that also worked at AOL.
Noah and Grace CERTAINLY drove up premiums for my district, but so did all of the other people who suffered a catastrophic illness. Our district has approximately 80,000 employees so our risk pool is much deeper, but to single out one group that AOL is supporting at great expense? I call bullshit.
The Goddess does love me. The update that's already been pushed back for our program and was due on Thursday night, and which was expected to cause the usual nightmare of support, has been pushed back again, to this coming Thursday night, AKA, The Night My Week-Long Vacation Begins. And if they say "We need you to come in," I say "My husband is having chemotherapy, I'm only coming in if our program starts trying to take over the world and is doing it badly."
Any one of us could have something catastrophic happen. I was reading about a bad accident where a DUI killed 6 people in Los Angeles. The two who survived are in ICU? You think their bills will be $100 when they get out? The AOL CEO is a dickhead.
congrats to MM on the publication. That rocks.
