Off leash. We came round the corner and she tore off onto the baseball field while the cop was already approaching a friend of mine to give her a ticket. So I just got yelled and snarked at.

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Aww, glad you didn't get ticketed.
I cannot brane today. I think the shower will help, but I probably just need an actual nap. But today is really my last "free" day before the SO gets home from tour and I really want to get my decluttering projects done before he gets home. Plus next weekend we're going to have guests, so I should probably make it so you can see the floor in the guestroom before then.
And so much work to do. Argh.
I would like to watch something on the NBC website that isn't Olympics, but NBC's website has little interest in actually playing it.
Ha, it's on Hulu! Screw you, NBC, for...licensing your content to Hulu! That'll show you.
Yeah, you tell 'em, Dana!
So impressed by this lady who is one of the ones the AOL guy was calling out re "we can't pay you 401ks because SOME PEOPLE had distressed babies that were expensive"--she wrote an article in Slate about it. What a SHITTY position to be put in--like their lives haven't been tough enough the past year, now her husband has to work with a bunch of folks who are being led to blame him and her?? While the CEO quadruples his pay? What an asshole.
Happy birthday, Suzi!
I have laundry going and soup bubbling away. That, plus watching televised sports on tv, will probably be the extent of today's accomplishments.
meara, I just saw that article. Bully for her, especially for pointing out that AOL had really good profits this year (and thus no reason to cut back their 401K). I know that startup capital is really important for businesses and this is why we have investors, but I really get resentful about the way shareholders are prioritized over the people who are actually making the business run on a day-to-day basis. Like, there ought to be employee representation on the board to point out the impacts their decisions would have on employee welfare and retention.
In other news, I have finished my editing project. Now I need to get off my ass, climb out of these sweats, put on a bra, walk the dogs, visit my dad, compile paperwork, and go to a vid party (we're watching Festivids). And then go to bed extra early so I can pick up Dad at 5AM to go to the hospital for his surgery.
ARGH.
(Am glad you all knew which of the "you"s in my earlier post was supposed to be "do.")
Curtains hung! I forgot I do have one more thing on the to-do list, and that is wash the old curtains I took down. Meh.
Birds are fed, birdseed put into its proper containers, dryer still going. 2-3 more loads waiting for the washer and that's it for laundry, that sounds doable. it's about time to move some dishes around. Also lunch. what shall I have for lunch? Hm.
Happy birthday, Suzi!
Aren't you glad I decided to share my exciting life?
My life has been way too exciting lately, so I'm down with the boring right now. I went to Target and now I'm back at home in my pajamas with cauliflower roasting in the oven. I may play Candy Crush.
what do I wear for temperatures in the 40s? Light sweater/heavy shirt and wool coat, right?
I don't know, dude. I wore a long-sleeved T-shirt and a wool coat out earlier and it was 11F, so I think this winter has warped me.
