Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

...which reminds me to get my prescription refilled today, and pick up cat food before Snowpocalypse: Electric Boogaloo hits.

Praying for a snow day tomorrow, pretty sure we won't get one.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Note: yesterday was a federal holiday. The Cincinnati public libraries were open.

Good lord, library. I do love them, though. I think I go to the Northside branch at least once a week.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Snow flurries have begun! Cats are watching intently. Let's see if we get the 3-5 inches we're supposed to.

I miss my old apartment a lot in the winter, for several reasons: (1) I didn't pay the heating bill; (2) that apartment was SO WARM, since it wasn't on a corner and didn't have a balcony with a sliding glass door that sucked out all the heat; (3) Paul the maintenance guy was ON IT with snow removal -- the sidewalks were always shoveled and the parking lot was always plowed (although the street just beyond the parking lot was a mess); (4) the layout was such that I had a comfy chair by the big front window and could park my ass in it and just watch the snowfall (and people's shenanigans, like sledding down the huge hill I lived on).

Because books.

They called at 5 a.m. to say school was cancelled here, and the totals for this area got upped to 9+ inches last night. Predictably, there was Panic at the Grocery Store this morning, but now it's time for pancakes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We got our snow last night--maybe five or six inches? I drove to work today and almost got rear-ended twice. This big SUV ended up driving into a snowbank to avoid rear-ending me and the car behind it also couldn't stop in time so it pulled alongside me until it could stop.

Shoulda' taken the train but I didn't want to deal with the windchill and all the unshoveled sidewalks.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's snowing here. I think the public schools were canceled, but the university is still open. I'm using a walker today, because my knee is really unstable, and with the sidewalks this icy, I don't trust crutches.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

no snow here, but temps did drop and will continue to.

Yesterday we needed the A/C in the office and today we need heat. We are all going to get sick.

ION - MCPHEE IS BACK from getting married and honeymoon and my place was so messy and she cleaned it all. I really did try to stay on top of stuff. I got sheets changed and did almost all the laundry while she was gone. I kept the dishes washed and the sink clean, but half the rooms were not vacuumed and clutter MY GOD THE CLUTTER. Also, I still have Christmas stuff out and she got a chunk of that put away.

I was at work until 6 last night, got home, got a call from a friend who had run out of gas, went to get her, get her gas, and back to her car, then came home, ate and went back to work for an hour. I have these reports I have to run, and the initiate customers getting billed. I cannot run them while we are shipping and all last week we were shipping until 6pm, so no reports run. boo. Last night they shipped until 6:45, but since my bosses boss had called twice about these reports I worked from 8pm to 9pm getting 90% of them run. grr.
