Yep, rent will go down a bit. We are also moving into a smaller unit but it is the upgraded version. We walked through the model unit and I like the changes they are making. My bedroom is going to be much smaller but it opens up on a patio. And the living/dining area is huge.

Anyone want to come help me pack? I won't even complain if you making fun of me if I'm still on pain meds.

Ooh, patio off your bedroom sounds nice.

Yikes! At least there is vacation in there?

That's I was thinking. Also, I'll sending smooth surgery-recovery ~ma now so that's front-loaded. That's how it works, right?

Hope Sox's appt. did/is going/will go well.

The chili tot casserole was good, if a little dry. Extra meat with not enough actual chili to compensate, I think.

In Starbucks at the moment -- it's hopping.

Jealous of the chili tot casserole. That sounds yummers.

I seem to have a good half-gallon of butternut squash. I can pretty much make any pumpkin recipe with that, right?

Holy shit, Loki just managed to turn on one of the burners and scare the shit out of the both of us.

…crap, I think I'm now going to have to pull off all the knobs out of paranoia. He's NEVER managed to do this before. Some odd confluence of knocking an old glass insulator off the windowsill and the mop handle hitting and maybe him leaping, I don't even know.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yup! The flavor's a little different, I guess, but still delicious.

Um, yikes. I think I would pull the knobs, too. No, I know I would. Fire or leaking gas, not good.

Oh good lord, Loki, don't do that!

Yeah, I figure, I like squash so it'll be fine as long as I don't expect it to taste like pumpkin. I am hoping I don't get any more at this point, though.

Looks like another long weekend of not really being as productive as I planned. Tired and unmotivated and feeling like petting the 14-year old newly vaccinated cat is the best use of my time...

I bet the 14-year old newly vaccinated cat it totally down with that plan, though.

Goodness. That's some impressive/disturbing Loki-ing.

Today's been cookeriffic. I made nut-free granola as a birthday gift for a nut-allergic friend. It came out really pretty, with bits of apricot, cranberry, and pumpkin seeds adding color, as well as flavor. I made an apple-walnut granola for myself. Now a Persian carrot soup is cooking, and it smells great (there's cinnamon and lemon pepper in it).
