Pumpkin just punched me in the face.

What was your infraction? Did you try to move or something?

I had the nerve to be putting a clean cover on the futon. AFAPC, my face got in the way of her paw.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Alzheimer's is such a difficult disease, and I think people who haven't experienced it personally don't fully understand that it isn't just memory loss but often a complete personality change.

Yes, this. I never really knew my paternal grandmother, because she was sliding into Alzheimer's when I was born. One of my good friends is the caretaker for her mother, who has a slow progressing form of it, and it has been very hard for both of them over the past several years.

Unlimited free alcohol as part of a prix fixe meal isn't legal in NYC, but most restaurants get around it by setting the limit higher than most people will order. (So instead of "unlimited mimosas with brunch" it becomes "up to 8 mimosas with brunch" and then the waiters just walk around with a pitcher and refill glasses without keeping track.)
