Alzheimer's is such a difficult disease, and I think people who haven't experienced it personally don't fully understand that it isn't just memory loss but often a complete personality change.

Yes, this. I never really knew my paternal grandmother, because she was sliding into Alzheimer's when I was born. One of my good friends is the caretaker for her mother, who has a slow progressing form of it, and it has been very hard for both of them over the past several years.
Hey, Theo, were you meeting up with people at Arisia on Saturday for dinner? Because I got a random phone call for a Connie about getting Indian food, and I think it might have been from some mutual aquaintance getting us confused. It wasn't Nutty, though...
Unlimited free alcohol as part of a prix fixe meal isn't legal in NYC, but most restaurants get around it by setting the limit higher than most people will order. (So instead of "unlimited mimosas with brunch" it becomes "up to 8 mimosas with brunch" and then the waiters just walk around with a pitcher and refill glasses without keeping track.)

thank you, t. Any ~ma is appreciated.
Medical ~ma, Sox. I hope everything's okay.
Jesse, that's awful about your friends. I can't even imagine that, at 51.
Tons of ~ma, Sox.
In good news, I have patched my bathroom walls! After confirming with the guy at the hardware store that the skim coat was, in fact, what I was talking about, and that I was buying the right stuff. It looks more or less crappy now, but I think after sanding and everything, it will be fine! Woo!
Surgery is set for the 30th. Now I scramble to get work coverage dealt with. At least I only have to plan for a week off since I work from home. If I had another job I'd be out 4-6 weeks.
That's good, Suzi!
