Probably both. I think even Cherry Ames stood that way occasionally. (I actually read very few Trixie Beldens, but I LOVED my mom's old Cherry Ames books.)

Akimbo is an awesome word. It also originates in, IIRC, Old Norse, as "en kenbowe."
The company bought everyone lunch in honor of my birthday (not really, but they did buy lunch, so I am pretending that is the reason).
