We've worked our way up to 11 (windchill -6) from 6 and it's supposed to reach a toasty 22. It is officially Too Damn Cold for Georgia. (A weather station in the mountains recorded -6.)
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Our high is supposed to be 13, which is about 15 or 16 degrees warmer than yesterday, so I'll take the win. I didn't leave the house yesterday because I am a wimp, but I am going to the damn gym today as soon as it gets closer to double digits. I suppose I should check my tire pressure.
Also going to bake some cookies while I wait for some gross medical article to edit.
Kitty~ma, Fred.
Ironically, we're above freezing. We were 12C (about 54F) when I went to bed. But it's not expecting to last long.
We were at a balmy 11 when I woke up.
We were still at -12 this morning, now up to a balmy -8.
If I tell you all the temperature here it will sound like I'm taunting, so I won't. But we do have wildfires in Humboldt County, which is ridiculous in January.
Sorry for the cat news, Fred.
I couldn't get my car out and my train was late but at least I made it to work. It's -4 now but it's gonna get up to 5 today! It's 59 in the office but I have warm clothes and a space-heater.
Friday they're predicting rain, and it'll be above freezing for a few days.
My mud room was 40 degrees - there was frost around the window and the door. I need to get laundry going and rerun the dishwasher to keep the water moving so the pipes don't freeze. I might make the girl take a nice, warm shower.
Thanks for the thoughts.
DC was down to 5 this morning. It's up to 12 with a wind chill of -3. In other words, standard DC -- on the edge of things. Bad enough to be bad, but hard to complain because so many people have it so much worse.
