Ok, I worked out. Now I am lying in the floor wishing I hadn't.

We really ARE having the same day!

Thought I Could Walk A Mile Faster Than 16 Minutes

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds superhuman to me, Tep.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I just have this memory of joining a gym after college (yes, I know it was almost 21 years ago) and cheerfully hauling ass on the treadmill at a 15-minute mile, walking. So somehow that's stuck in my head as the speed I "should" be walking. But I managed a mile in 16:20 or so today. It's so cold and dry my lungs are giving me a little grief, and I'm actually a little dizzy, too, although I think that's a side effect of the increased BP meds. (BP is 110/70, so the meds are working. I know that's not a low BP, but it seems weird as hell to me.)

I want sushi in the worst way. Some friends were talking about it on FB this morning, so we made a date to get sushi at the end of the month, because that's the first date that works for everyone. But man, I want it NOW. t /Veruca

t edit I realize I am a grown-ass adult with both money and a vehicle, and I could get sushi if I wanted, but it's 15 degrees out and I am not going back out in that (see also, lungs: hurt, and dizzy: me; also, hair: wet).

I just wimped out on an actual workout, and instead walked around the neighborhood and checked out the new restaurant and store (adorable hipster grocery store, too small for real grocery shopping, more of the "send the kid down the block for an onion" thing). (ETA: It was 2 miles, so I figure that's good, though still well short of 10K steps since it was the first time I left the house today)

My issue is those "target heart rate" things. I mean, if I jog pretty much at all, I'm up in "max" territory, and certainly not in "cardio" or "fat burning" supposed zones. If I hit above the "max" for my age, does that mean my heart explodes?

My experiment with savory oatmeal turned out much better than I anticipated. I think the secret was making it spicy and adding goat cheese.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I ventured into the world for the first time in a few days. Mani and pedi have been accomplished. And I scheduled a facial for tomorrow - but I need to decide if I want to brave the weather tomorrow to go across the parking lot.

Came home to a letter from the mammography place - boobs came up clean. Yay!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Okay, I adore large curd cottage cheese in my oatmeal, but the thought of goat cheese in it made unseemly things happen in my underthings brain.

Savory oatmeal sounds so tasty. As soo as I am done low carbing I'm eating a ton of it.

I like to figure my target heart rate based off of my "max heart rate" as determined from doing a set exercise rather than age. Fwtw.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay boobs!

You guys, this post Jesse "Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This" Dec 15, 2013 5:48:51 pm PST came true a day early, and I am SO HAPPY. I had three delightful meals I made myself, watched a bunch of tv, went to the grocery store... and did some work, but whatever. I knew I had been short on sitting-around time, but honestly kind of forgot how awesome it is. Fingers crossed for the rest of the weekend.

Jesse - I have the flip side. Today is my last day of vacation. The next payperiod starts tomorrow and if I work part of the weekend, next week will be much smoother.

Though I have to say, working only 18 hours over the last two weeks - has been pretty nice.
