My favourite such occurrence was when the lecturer stopped, looked at the board and muttered, "is it obvious...?" He then stood there for about a minute, before announcing "Yes, it's obvious" and carrying on.

Now I'm not sure if I had this same experience in college or if billytea told this story before and I incorporated it into my own memories as something I should have experienced...

Major Drama Llama. We got a new employee a few weeks ago. Today we got an email that she has resigned, effective immediately. It was a long weekend and she wasn't at work yesterday, so we have no idea what happened.

Also, trying to plan fun this summer has been the absolute suck. I went to visit my parents last weekend instead of going to a music fest partly because I was already committed to going to a folk fest this weekend with other friends and I couldn't really afford to do both. Last night, my friend who I was going to the folk fest with (and staying in her house) emails me that they're really broke and they don't think they're going to do the folk festival this year, and besides, did she mention her SiL is visiting, and they have parties to go to that weekend too. So now I am totally pissed that I made the plans the way I did. I really wanted to go to SappyFest last weekend, and I should have just said, Fuck it, and gone.

Thirdly, my cousin, who is 15 years older than me and I am not close with at all, is getting married the weekend after next. I only accepted the invite because the wedding is local, I knew my sisters' would be going, and I would seem like a total bitca if I didn't go. My sisters' informed me on the weekend that they are not even staying with me, but with another cousin of mine, so I totally didn't have to go to this wedding. I am now wondering if I can weasel out of it.

Lesson learned: don't agree to things out of obligation.

Perhaps it is the fact I've been up since 5, and at work since 7:15. Perhaps it is because I've heard way too many of this person's inane, sanctimonious conversations before. Perhaps it is the fact that they are sharing OMGBALTIMORECOUNTYSCARYCRIME (the hell?) stories that I can hear from down the hall. But I'm really really wondering how the fuck she walks out of her house every day. Everything in her world seems scary or toxic.

That kind of bitching drives me insane in the membrane. it happens in Rochester all the time, because suburban people are scared of "the city". My downstairs neighbor is also one of those people who says "the blacks" in a whisper.

So, my brother says my father is boycotting my half-sister's wedding because of an ongoing fight they are having that started at Christmas when he made a snarky comment about her makeup. I was assuming there was at least a REASON.

My mother was just telling me that her suburban support group friends were all freaking out that my father was found in Boston because Something Could Have Happened To Him! In one of the ritziest neighborhoods in the city? Unlikely. Also, he was way better off on a sidewalk with lots of people around.
