'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My first day of 2014 was spent lazing around. Now I have to see about a rental car and venturing forth in a long slow drive to the Catskills in the face of Snowpocalypse. I am resolute, and also skilled in winter driving.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So far schools are open tomorrow BUT our principal just sent us an email asking parents to keep kids home anyway because so many of our teachers commute from Long Island. So my new year's gift to myself will be paying our babysitter through the nose to work 8 hours instead of 2 tomorrow.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We spent New Year's Eve watching Clue. Lots of fun. It's tempting to think of it as a double feature with Murder by Death, but that might also be too much of the same kind of good thing.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I love Clue, although I wish I could go back in time and unsee it, so I can see it again for the first time!

It is not THAT snowpocalpsey here, but it is pretty cold (not as cold as at Cashmere's when she threw the boiling water and it became snow).

Also I am so tired, I want to sleep forever.

Because books.

I love Clue and Murder by Death!

It's not supposed to start snowing here till later this afternoon, but it certainly looks threatening. Must get milk, of course.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's already snowing here. It looks likes we have a few inches so far.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It's snowing here, but we aren't supposed to get snowpocalypse (except for how ANY snowfall in Cincinnati is the goddamn snowpocalypse). They're forecasting, at most, 4 inches, but probably more like 2. And this is when I love working from home. Yes indeed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's snowing like a bitch here, and my boss told me already she basically doesn't believe in snowdays. So that's nice. We'll see what the organization believes in!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

unsurprisingly no snow here, but colder than yesterday, that is for sure.

I so enjoyed having people at my house. I wish it had been more at once and for a sustained time. I think I will invite people over each Sunday for the playoffs.

I also wish I had just finished cleaning up last night instead of stopping at like 85%.

Tonight I have a dinner for a church committee and then my brother gets in (if his flight is not cancelled)at midnight. The guest room is NOT at all ready. Christmas stuff, plus anything I cleared out for the people yesterday is just shoved in there. Afterwork is gonna be busy.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Just gloomy here in DC. We're expecting rain showers later, changing over to snow showers in the middle of the night with a very cold day by DC standards tomorrow.
