I need to learn how to hard boil eggs.
I bring water to a boil, put the eggs in while turning the water down to a very low simmer, and leave them in there for about 10/11 minutes. That usually works pretty well. What are you doing?
Hubby's making meatloaf. I wonder if he'll be able to find lamb, again. I love his meatloaf.
I should go look at my closet and figure out an outfit but really I want to go sit on the couch and watch some of my shows I have stacked up. People aren't going to be here to go out until 8:45. Maybe I have time?
lisah, I put the eggs in cold water, bring to not quite a boil (this is probably where I get into trouble, but that's what several otherwise trustworthy sources recommend), take it off the heat and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then cool the eggs in an ice water bath (or just cool water, whatever), start peeling and, hey, these are not cooked eggs. Opaque but liquid.
Yeah, I'd do a rolling boil before turning them off, and it should work.
OK, next time. These cookbook authors seem awfully concerned that I don't overcook my eggs, but I don't think I care.
This time I've already just started over from the beginning and am back up to cooling, but since one is already cracked open I can see that the white is firmer.
I should make egg salad. Egg salad makes me happy.
I'm having pork chops and brussels sprouts, and I got myself a honey and lemon cupcake for afterwards.
Nice, Anne!
I wish you much meatloaf and egg salad, Connie.
