Bringing two topics together, I'm not a big fan of maple flavor either. Something astringenty about it. But I do regret being unable to bring the maple syrup given as a favor at a Toronto wedding over the border.

Maple syrup is not for me - the only time I use it is in place of brown sugar when cooking chili to counterbalance the bite.
