OK! I have: done dishes, put in a load of laundry, and swapped mattresses. I'm sleeping on my grandmother's bed, and her mattress is "good," but I think it's too soft for me. We'll see how tonight goes with my old mattress on there.

First step: coffee. Okay technically that's the second step since I took out the recycling while it brewed. Breakfast will be papas rellanas and cheese blintzes. Look at me, all multi-culti with the food!
We are making five kinds of cookies today. Made the dough for two last night do they could chill. Mmm.
Have ironed and hung (and/or rehung) more curtains, taken out recycling, cleaned the bathroom, showered, put away the laundry. Next I have to go out for a couple of Christmas things, but first lunch. Also hairdrying.
I should be cleaning. Or doing something productive with my unexpected day.

I'm on the road to NJ. Stopped at Denny's for lunch. Route 80 is so boring.
Today is present wrapping and pie-dough making day, although both may be slightly hindered by my taking a chunk out of my thumb while slicing potatoes for a gratin. The cut's not deep, but it's bleeding like whoa.
In other news, something that is unexpectedly delicious is the latte that the local coffee shop makes with a brown sugar and rosemary syrup.
