But does anyone have any experience with dealing with visa (card) insurance on rentals?
When we dented a rental car, the travel insurance on our Discover card paid for the whole thing - we didn't even owe a deductible. And at the time that was our only car insurance since we didn't have a car of our own. We just filled out a form at the rental agency and they took care of everything.
I got up and went to the mall. I must be insane. I need to finish up my Buffista Secret Santa gift and get that out today.
Now the only question is if the concert will actually happen. I think most of the snow is supposed to be overnight, and it could be as little as 6", so I think it will go ahead.
Is it tonight? We're forecast for 20-30 cms and people are going bananas. Somethings are cancelled already. It's like we've never had snow before.
I was supposed to go on a historic walking tour today, and then a pub crawl. I'm definitely skipping the pub crawl, since I really don't want to drive in this snow, in the dark, on streets with no street lights, if I've had even one drink. Not sure about the walking tour -- that's all within walking distance of my house, but I'm not sure I want to spend an hour outside. Plus, I'd have to wear boots, which means no ankle brace, and I'm not sure I can do that much walking without the brace, although my boots do have decent ankle support.
I had a plan to be productive, but may have gotten sucked into one of my most favorite HGTV shows--"Income Property"! If they switch to House Hunters, I'll go do work. I need to do a bunch more cleaning of the apartment because I have a new roommate moving in tomorrow. Which is scary--I don't know her at all, she's a friend of a friend, but she said she likes Sherlock and Dr. Who, so I'm hoping she's good people.
I adore the Income Property guy. So cute.
Oh, and if anyone wants to be productive while chatting over facetime/facebook/gchat, I would love to...
Emergency cake is in the oven!!! It's this one, btw:

Our friend who was going to make it is gluten-free so this cake has the double benefit of not using flour and being made with a couple of the bday girl's fave ingredients. (Friend is also vegan but she was making a butter/egg-ception for this cake!)
Hope it turns out! And that the snow we're getting now doesn't screw up the evening's plans.

I can get on facebook chat. I'm doing a Udacity course, with sound, so video probably wouldn't be the best way now.
I'm checking in for my flight to NYC tomorrow. We got the snow fairy here in Chicago last night. I think I'm just going to assume that my flight will be delayed.
Hil, for me the voice is more the point--I want to be chit chatting with someone while my hands are doing productive things! ...so far I'm doing OK on my own but feel my energy for it ebbing as I create more and more bags of garbage that need to be hauled downstairs. But I found my Christmas ornaments! They were cleverly with the Christmas cookie cutters.
