It's freezing cold here today and tomorrow we're supposed to have snowpocalypse. It should be a perfect weekend to indulge in hibernation. And yet, I'm up. Damn cats.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I was waking up what felt like too early, and I thought, "OK, if it's before 7, I'll try to go back to sleep." Opened my eyes, and it was 7:04. Dammit! So I'm up. Looking at clothing options and trying to put off eating breakfast, because I'm not sure how or when I'm going to get either lunch or dinner. Maybe I'll shower. That will kill some time.
Also waking up too early. Except it wasn't that early. My self wanted to sleep in. HPF had another plan.
I am balancing so much impotent anger at the gun lobbyists this morning with the need to get moving and accomplish all the things. I don't know if that makes sense but it is frustrating.
Have you ever had the mushroom soup at the market? It's good. A little salty for my taste, but oh so savory.
I haven't but I do enjoy smelling it at the mushroom stand! YUM!
I was up early walking dog then dropping off Bob and a couple of friends to run a 5 miler in the park near here. Then I went to the market and now I'm home waiting for the runners to call so I can pick them up. I need to go to the other store but I'm waiting to hear if I'll need to make an emergency cake for best friends bday celebrations tonight. Our other friend was making it and she seems to have had some kind of caketastrophe last night and I'm not sure if bf's husband will step in to make cake or if I will. Is a little stressy because I'm not a super adept baker and my time today is kind of limited.
Timelies all!
Nova is kneading my thigh, again. I'm actually surprised she left her spot on the heating vent to come up here.
I confess to enjoying the idea of an emergency cake!
My mother just dressed me for my two events today, which was good fun for everyone (except my father). Now the only question is if the concert will actually happen. I think most of the snow is supposed to be overnight, and it could be as little as 6", so I think it will go ahead.
But does anyone have any experience with dealing with visa (card) insurance on rentals?
When we dented a rental car, the travel insurance on our Discover card paid for the whole thing - we didn't even owe a deductible. And at the time that was our only car insurance since we didn't have a car of our own. We just filled out a form at the rental agency and they took care of everything.
I got up and went to the mall. I must be insane. I need to finish up my Buffista Secret Santa gift and get that out today.

Is it tonight? We're forecast for 20-30 cms and people are going bananas. Somethings are cancelled already. It's like we've never had snow before.
I was supposed to go on a historic walking tour today, and then a pub crawl. I'm definitely skipping the pub crawl, since I really don't want to drive in this snow, in the dark, on streets with no street lights, if I've had even one drink. Not sure about the walking tour -- that's all within walking distance of my house, but I'm not sure I want to spend an hour outside. Plus, I'd have to wear boots, which means no ankle brace, and I'm not sure I can do that much walking without the brace, although my boots do have decent ankle support.
I had a plan to be productive, but may have gotten sucked into one of my most favorite HGTV shows--"Income Property"! If they switch to House Hunters, I'll go do work. I need to do a bunch more cleaning of the apartment because I have a new roommate moving in tomorrow. Which is scary--I don't know her at all, she's a friend of a friend, but she said she likes Sherlock and Dr. Who, so I'm hoping she's good people.
