The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Consuela, I'm so sorry. That's rough. I wish I had some magical advice to give that would fix everything.

Also, thanks for the cats & dogs link - the third cat in there (the white one) looks very much like my Finn. Who, for the record, scared the pants off my mom's dog the other day.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

In my house when the cat barges in and starts eating the dog food, the dog comes and gets me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Walter and Wednesday share. She can drive him off his bed, though, just because she likes to snuggle and he needs his space.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's hilarious brenda. I can just see it.

Amy, forget central heat, my house doesn't even have insulation.

If we owned our house, the first big improvement wouldn't be duct work for central air, it would be insulation. And we have one floor heater. Our house is cold.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And thanks, folks. It's been a hell of a year. I'm considering writing a holiday letter to go in my cards, and it just stumps me, because there's basically no good news. I don't think I can do it.

I had an ex get in touch with me and want to catch up after we'd lost contact for a couple of years. It was totally welcome but I had to put a huge disclaimer at the beginning that was basically, "Yes a lot of this sucks but it happened and so I am telling you. I am still really glad we're catching up even though reading this is going to be hard for you and it was hard to write (and live through) for me."

Because books.

The big dogs afraid to walk by the cats was especially adorable.

I'm blue tonight, but The Sing-Off is back. Yay.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Things I can figure out how to do with my new Blu-Ray player: watch Netflix, watch Amazon streaming movies, listen to Pandora, watch Hulu shows, browse the web. Things I cannot figure out how to do: watch a DVD.

Edit: OK, I figured it out. Had to open and close the disc drawer again.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Since when is Monday Night Football on ABC?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Since when is Monday Night Football on ABC?

Just be thankful it's still on Monday night. "I am altering the broadcast. Pray I do not alter it further."
