Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It is not super cold here! (Sorry.) (Relative to location.)

You know, I made a joke about giving everyone liquor for Christmas, but I may actually do that for the dudes. The men in my family are hard to buy for! Mostly because I don't get their respective tastes in books, unlike the women.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I would get my dad liquor, but he had to stop drinking before his liver exploded, so now nsm. I'll see what my mom and sister are thinking.

CJ and I went to the History Colorado Center. Great museum with lots of great interactive exhibits. At lunch we noticed a group of gentlemen come in wearing suits and two were wearing their Medal of Honor ribbons. CJ always makes a point to thank anyone in military uniform or an obvious veteran. He went and thanked each gentleman and shook their hands. Went we left he was so flustered and happy to have met two honorees.

We looked up the stats. About 90 were been given to a living honoree during the Vietnam war era and only 6 since. Based on their ages I'd guess we met one from each group.

Oh lord -- TLC has Xmas-tree obsessed collectors on....

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

There were some cute epiphytes mounted on tree cookies at the wholesale garden supplier, but I could see the smears of hot glue on the wood (and made me afraid for the plant getting burned like that), so I bought three cute tilandsia and I'll mount them myself for my lil' bro. I was thinking that maybe I should draw him seomthing, since one of the things he bemoans is me not drawing anymore, and still has my rendition of Psylocke mounted on his wall in a place of honor. Maybe I'll make that a birthday present so I'll have time to investigate what he'd like nowadays.

I'm just broke. Christmas presents at this point are looking like burnt cd mixes at this point.

I just did a sidejob that scored me a couple hundred, but that'll just keep the rent from bouncing . . . maybe.

I think I might get one whole set of three families these canvas table linens: [link] Maybe placemats for the ones my age and the table runner for the parents? For once, I'm glad all the women changed their names, because monogramming is too hard otherwise!

How many Santas does one family need?

Depends on the family!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Onerous task weekend, day 1 was a success. Went through and cleaned up our old files AND got all my sister's old shredding (20 or so banker boxes) to the shredders. Anyone got some wine?

My voice is approaching Kathleen Turner territory, but the sinuses weren't as mad at diving under. Definitely still pissed, though. And there was unintended napping today. Weirdest possible cold ever.

But I did fall down the stairs after successfully negotiating them with 40lbs of litter, awkward boxes and the vacuum. But apparently just walking empty handed is problematic. Elbow is sore, but otherwise my falling skill are still excellent.

Hoping to swim in the morning in case the weather closes the Y early (likely overreaction if it does) and so I can go to the parade (unless the weather is shit.) I could walk there in 30-40 minutes, but I don't want to have to walk back if it is dark (it will be, sun starts setting at 4!) and even less so if it has turned to rain. And I don't want to be driving even a couple miles and trying to get out of iffy parking if it does go to shit (now that we're down a free parking lot over there.) Decisions, decisions. I'd hate to miss the parade and lisah's hosting!

My brother is trying to find a new loan. VA canned his on account of something with the title of the house (foreclosure in the last couple years, though not a foreclosure now. It's some Alabama thing.) It's his birthday tomorrow. Happy fucking birthday. I'm trying to help, but not of much use.
