We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

... just realized I accidentally scheduled my doctor's appointment for when I'm going to be in NYC. I fail at calendars. Okay, calling back. UGH.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have pretty much cleaned out my office, and have just one email I would still send.

Because books.

Not long now, Jesse! Have you said all your good-byes?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Brenda and shrift, I heard on the radio this morning that the S. African consulate (200 S. Michigan) has a condolence book that anyone can go in and sign through next week.

All right. Dentist, doctor, and optometrist all scheduled, and here's hoping they are on the days I think they are. I'll worry about getting a haircut later.

Are you leaving early, Jesse? I thought that was a prerogative of last days.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, neat.

Is that across the street from the Art Institute?

It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

Sometimes it's the little things that make my day. I just corrected an article proof that refers to the "Department of Psychological and BRIAN Sciences." Now, it *could* be the most specialized department on the planet, and only studies the psychology of dudes named Brian, but I'm thinking maybe some letters got transposed...

Because books.

There are a few Brians it would be worth looking into, I bet.

Stephen King joined Twitter an hour ago and has almost 26K followers already.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We often call my cousin Brian "brain."

I have said all of my good-byes, and would leave early, except I am going to a party at my coworker's house (planned before I gave notice) and am getting a ride straight there at 5:30.
