Also, I've had
Biko
stuck in my head since 5 today. The Joan Baez live version. I guess it is one of the protest songs I most associate with the Mandela era. Several years ago, I was at the Smithsonian folklife festival, South Africa being one of the featured countries. A bunch of South African women in saris and other indonesian costumes explained the song's history, the Xhosa lyrics, and led a sing along that made me cry.
It seems so appropriate now.
You can blow out a candle/But you can't blow out a fire/Once the flames begin to catch/The wind will blow it higher/Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko/Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja {come spirit}/The man is dead
Amy, that made me laugh much that I went to look - and that's a parody account for the awesome Doctor.
Aw, damn. Well, still funny!
Scandal: WHOAWHOAWHOA.
WHOAWHOAWHOA. Because it needs repeating. I thought I knew what you were WHOAWHOAWHOAing and then I got to the next scene.
I know, RIGHT!
I think this is my one true Biko version. Bagpipes! : [link]
She's his protege but got mixed up with the other side. Or an other side, anyway. It's kind of convoluted.
On the whole, I think I'm glad I went with Elementary. I wonder if that opening scene was *less* horrifying if you watch it regularly.
Starting Elementary, though I should be going to bed. I love how in the Sherlock POV Joan is schlepping around in raggedy t-shirts and denim.
Elementary did a thing. You've gotta get to it, though. And I went daaaaaaang. I guess I could go post in Procedurals.
