There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

I told myself that I would go to bed early last night. Guess who has two thumbs and did not go to bed early last night?

Yeah.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It seems that the only way I can get a restful night's sleep is to go to bed by 10pm and get up by 6:30. If I stay up later or sleep later, I'm cranky and tired the next day. I feel that that's just ridiculous and my pineal gland is entirely too picky.

And then there are the cats, who all too often are awake and boisterous from around 4-7am, and who insist on fighting and yelling in my bedroom. Because they love me.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The procedure wasn't at all awful. The prep for it varies in awfulness, the worst of which for me was the Magnesium Citrate drink which turns out to be carbonated for no very good reason that I can understand.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The prep drink is by far the worst of it.

I am thus far being productive at work, which good, I guess. I'd rather be chatting here with you all.

One thing people (not me) are working on today would allow me to scan in our daily shipment receipts and not have to keep a year's worth (4 - 5 file boxes) in my office at all times. If they get this functioning, all I will be doing on the slow days around the holidays is scanning bills from the last 12 months.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Prep actually wasn't as bad as I'd heard, possibly because the magnesium citrate was flavored. For me, the worst was the IV needle. I'm usually bad about needles, but for some reason, IVs bring out the worst in me. I didn't pass out, but it was a near thing for a while. Also not good was the air that got into my stomach, making things pretty painful afterward until I got it out of my system . And the nap was pleasant.

(White font for mild to moderate grossness.)

I think some of the smellier Christmas decorations are giving me a migraine.

Wait, a colonoscopy requires an IV?!

Fred Pete - Dec 04, 2013 10:13:50 am PST #13697 of 30000
Ann, that's a ferret.

They administered the sedative by IV. At least, I think it was IV. Needle in back of hand, nearly passed out, cold cloth to forehead -- just like my surgery a couple of years ago.

One of the nurses had been a military medic. He told me that the big, tough Marines were the ones that actually passed out from needles.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I woke up in the middle of my colonoscopy. Ask me how fun that was.
