This is the week of potato fail. The mashed potatoes at T-day dinner were gluey. The potato pancakes I tried to make with them (twice!) were an epic fail.Luckily we can just blend them up for Grace.

I have no idea what I did to make my right thigh sore as all fuck today, but now I worked outside for about 90 minutes today and my feet ache and my legs are both sore.
and christmas lights are not working and mac won't help with things and and and.
Today the plan was for me to stay with Dad while Mom traveled with one of my cousins to another cousin's dinner the next state over and got to visit with assorted relatives. However, Mom woke up nauseous and spent most of the day in bed, with me playing nurse. No fair for her; I'm hoping she can at least get away to go enjoy some time out of the house with her friends this coming week.
Afterwards I apparently went to a mall in the twilight zone, where it wasn't overcrowded and everyone was pleasant. Maybe the assholes all wore themselves out over the last day and 3/4 and headed home? Also, Bed, Bath, & Beyond has $25 iTunes gift cards for $20.
My dad's surgery went well, although he's really out of it right now. Soon we'll be able to see him again in his room.
Thanks for all the kind words everybody!
He probably won't be really with it till tomorrow, tommy. I'm glad the surgery went well!
I'm glad the surgery went well, that's scary shit.
I did a lot today. And discovered the kale is only $1/lb!!! (I never knew because I was always borrowing just a few leaves(?) from Sandra, and she never let me pay, I now know why. It'd be like a dime.) But I forgot baking chocolate. So will have to go out again for that. Swim done, not greatest. I'm convinced the dry in my nose is due to the drier Maryland air after SoCal's humidity (how often is that said) and not the cold the hacky-wheezy-guy on the parking shuttle had. I can't get sick this week.
Got a few jewelry ideas for my SIL at the market. I figure most of their xmas stuff will be going in on house stuff once we get there. Other than that, I have done zilch. There's a couple places in Hampden I know I need to hit up. But of course, I had to re-up my supply of face lotion (cheaper in bulk orders for a 6 month supply) and 2 new suits (under $40! last 2 in my One True Suit in my size! -kiefer.com, Kat. Smaller overall selection than swimoutlet, but I've had better luck with them lately.) aaaand a bookshelf. There was only one I could get with no shipping. Asking my brother to do his magic to get me free shipping from target on the ones through them.
...which is like anti-xmas shopping, but all were necessary or deals I couldn't let pass, damned my bills.
And thursday is the crown. Blearg.
Ouch, Jessica. WTF parents and in-laws?!
DH just took the kids out for a long drive so I could grade. I love him. I hate grading.
I am still sore from my tumble. We had to go to the grocery store earlier, and when we drove up the street, Tim asked, "Is the garbage cart that's in the street the one you hit with your face?"
Me: "What? No, it was on the sidewalk...DAMN. My face shoved it into the street! No wonder it hurts."
Doesn't look like any bruising. Just sore in many, many different places. I have taken as much ibuprofen as I'm allowed. Sheesh. Stupid ankle.
House is about 70% decorated. Hopefully I can get both kids here at the same time to decorate the tree. I don't like doing this by myself, yet I like it when it's done, so I keep plugging away.
Tommy, glad your dad came through surgery well, more healing ~ma out your way.
Oh, Jessimoon, you've had a thoroughly sucky holiday.
Please drive very carefully home while everybody is dressed in bubblewrap, and also in a personal bubble of happy quietude.
