Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Amy, one of the houses on the Home Tour I went on in October had been extensively remodeled with the husband actually doing most of the work rather than hiring contractors or whatever. One of the things he did was turn a tiny garage into a tiny studio for his wife with a murphy bed, frilly decor (because that's what she wanted and it didn't go with the rest of the house) and a bathroom - so she would have a retreat all her own. All of us on the tour were jealous.

Because books.

I would like everything but the frills, please.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Right now, my fantasies are limited to my parents and in-laws finding somewhere other than the bottom of the stairs right below my kids bedroom to talk loudly about what's causing my kids to misbehave.

And when I brought up the fact that sound carries and Dylan can hear every word they're saying, my mother chewed me out for not bringing it up earlier, "before blowing up at everyone."

Oh, and one of my credit card numbers was stolen. Fuck this weekend.

Because books.

Oh Jess, that's not fair. I'm sorry.

This is the week of potato fail. The mashed potatoes at T-day dinner were gluey. The potato pancakes I tried to make with them (twice!) were an epic fail.Luckily we can just blend them up for Grace.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Today the plan was for me to stay with Dad while Mom traveled with one of my cousins to another cousin's dinner the next state over and got to visit with assorted relatives. However, Mom woke up nauseous and spent most of the day in bed, with me playing nurse. No fair for her; I'm hoping she can at least get away to go enjoy some time out of the house with her friends this coming week.

Afterwards I apparently went to a mall in the twilight zone, where it wasn't overcrowded and everyone was pleasant. Maybe the assholes all wore themselves out over the last day and 3/4 and headed home? Also, Bed, Bath, & Beyond has $25 iTunes gift cards for $20.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My dad's surgery went well, although he's really out of it right now. Soon we'll be able to see him again in his room.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody!

Because books.

He probably won't be really with it till tomorrow, tommy. I'm glad the surgery went well!

I'm glad the surgery went well, that's scary shit.

I did a lot today. And discovered the kale is only $1/lb!!! (I never knew because I was always borrowing just a few leaves(?) from Sandra, and she never let me pay, I now know why. It'd be like a dime.) But I forgot baking chocolate. So will have to go out again for that. Swim done, not greatest. I'm convinced the dry in my nose is due to the drier Maryland air after SoCal's humidity (how often is that said) and not the cold the hacky-wheezy-guy on the parking shuttle had. I can't get sick this week.

Got a few jewelry ideas for my SIL at the market. I figure most of their xmas stuff will be going in on house stuff once we get there. Other than that, I have done zilch. There's a couple places in Hampden I know I need to hit up. But of course, I had to re-up my supply of face lotion (cheaper in bulk orders for a 6 month supply) and 2 new suits (under $40! last 2 in my One True Suit in my size! -kiefer.com, Kat. Smaller overall selection than swimoutlet, but I've had better luck with them lately.) aaaand a bookshelf. There was only one I could get with no shipping. Asking my brother to do his magic to get me free shipping from target on the ones through them.

...which is like anti-xmas shopping, but all were necessary or deals I couldn't let pass, damned my bills.

And thursday is the crown. Blearg.
