We are doing a tree, but we only have an old deaf dog and the twins. We don't, however, have tons of space.
We went to King Gillette Ranch to get a National Parks stamp and a junior ranger badge. It was sunny in those mountains, which was nice. We also walked around Paramount Ranch. Next up? Perhaps Joshua Tree day trip.
Suzi, have a great date!
Bev, sorry about H's fall. That sounds terrible!
Yeah, healing-ma to H!
Good date-ma to Suzi. At least with the date, you have lots of stuff to talk about. And who knows, in person there is always the chance of sparkage!
Yikes! Much, much ~ma to H, Bev. I'm so glad that things are fixable. You'll be in my thoughts. I hope the surgery and recovery go well,
Yikes, Bev! Healing~ma galore!
Have fun storming the castle dating, Suzi
Thanks, guys. He's unsurprisingly stoic about pain--really high threshhold. What we're both concerned about is functionality once it's healed. And what *I'm* concerned about is how awful a patient he is, and how to keep from batting him while he grouses through the healing period.
Good-date wishes, Suzi!
And yes, Jilli, do the tree. Guy wires and eyebolts if you have to, but...tree!
Kat, it's so neat to hear you're kicking back with your family. Moar fun, less stress for you!
msbelle, I'm sorry the plans fell through. Decorating's always more fun with someone to help--or even somebody to just stand by and kibbitz while you do it. Maybe she can come by over the weekend and you guys can still decorate.
I have a date in about an hour. I repeat, a date.
Whoot!
I have always put up a tree even with kittens. It does get tied to the wall though. The one year I put non-breakables on because Clio was still tiny and full of mischief, she almost too the tree down with her love of the raffia garland.
Frankly, I am the great destroyer of ornaments in my house. I've probably got a 3:1 ratio to the cats.
Yikes, Beverly! Good luck to both of you.
Kitchen? Actually 100% done! Counters wiped and everything. Oh, except for the contents of the fridge, which I can't deal with until the morning. (I have sorted out the stuff I didn't want to move already.)
What we're both concerned about is functionality once it's healed.
He can do some PT exercises once it's healed, and that should help with range of motion and strength. I am sending all my healing vibes his way.
Healing~ma to H, Beverly.
I have my bird-themed tree up, and Leifur--who is quite happy to stalk and kill many animate and inanimate things--pretty much leaves it alone. He checked it out, but the only time he tried to kill any part of it was when I knocked a wee, round owl ornament (with real feathers) onto his head. Which was totally justified on Leifur's part, I think.
