So I had a talk with boss lady. I phrased it as "I apologize for being a bossy desk jockey" and "I feel that with circumstances that I'm not part of the team" and both sentiments were met with "Don't beat yourself up, I haven't taken offense to anything and get where you're coming from in terms of baggage" and "you're totally part of the team and I understand how you're laid up".
Which was nice, but it feels like a copout. I feel like she didn't really hear me --and it took a couple of false starts for me to get my point across on the second topic, because she kept assuming what my point was instead of letting me finish a sentence.
There's still a couple of topics left unaddressed, but as productive as that initial conversation went, I figure let's wait a bit, and maybe a more organic moment will arrive.
Set up appointments with the workers comp physical therapist, and managed to score times that are after work for the next month. So at least I'll be missing less work (omg I've turned into a secretary, the amount of data inputting I've been handed off).
Carbonated hummus= gone off. I've noticed the cilantro jalepeño one tends to go faster, I suspect the acid. So all I had was carrots.
When I left for the pool @5, 2 helicopters were just hovering a bit north of me, very odd. Triple shooting, one dead, in the neighborhood just to the north. Street's a cut-through I use a lot; I recognized the house immediately. Freaky! (But it's on That Side of 39th...) It definitely a struggling 'hood. Right across another street from one of the richest neighborhoods in Baltimore City. Crazy city.
Aaand it turns out the copters were for an unrelated stolen vehicle pursuit at the same time. WTF, NE Balt??
Being a parent can suck beyond the telling if it.
Thanks be for whiskey.
Hey, guys, cooking question. If the sauce I cooked meat in contains yogurt, is it a bad idea to save and re-use it?
I am currently failing at being a respectful daughter. I am also spitting mad. The two are, unfortunately, related.
Scrappy, I'm glad DH is ok.
chrismg, I don't see why not, as long as it's thoroughly cooked. I'd be more worried about the meat part than the yogurt part.
$775 for Joan's dress last night. I was actually rooting for separates. And affordable. Definitely that.
Grey's last night was boring. Uninvolving, and the decision at the end...WTF? Normally I drift away from eps, this one I skipped ahead to the 45 minute mark. And then drifted.
Since the meat was cooked through, it should be OK. Thanks!
Sox, just take care of yous. Scrappy! Yikes! Yay for gear.
Why is it I want to get stuff for me just before the holidays in my money-crunch season*? Always happens. I now know what shelves and new coffee table I want. But I want it now, and not something I can 'get' for xmas. And I need a new chair cover for the one Loki destroyed (I know how to stop him, but the damage is already done.) And money-crunch season.
And now it is raining and I have to do leaves this weekend. Uhg.
* bunch of semi-annual bills come due over the course of the next few months. Plus the xmas extravaganza. Plus new crown. I just feel like I bleed money from November to up to May and then it calms for a bit. Unless I have an ER visit in rural nowhere on a sunday.
