Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I had an anxiety dream last night in which my dissertation advisor (left dissertation 12 years ago; am on perfectly civil terms with advisor, who lives in my current city and I run into every 6 months or so) was asking me about a guy in my former field of study whom I once dated (21 years ago; am also on perfectly civil terms with this guy, who I last saw maybe 6 years ago, and who like me is happily married with kids.)
I mean, could I get a statute of limitations on some of this shit, please?
Wooohooo, Jesse!!!
We were supposed to be interviewing someone this morning and he didn't show up and didn't call. Hope it's not something terrible but, if not, thanks for giving us an easy way to eliminate an option!
Go Cowgirl Jesse!
Way to go, Jesse!
Congrats, Jesse!
From an ad for an unpaid internship posting:
For this internship you will be working on editing a book that the CEO wrote. The book which was published when the CEO was only 18 years old is in need of editing, grammar checking, etc. which can be completed by an intern. Please be sure to check the requirements below to make sure that you qualify for the internship.
After completing the editing portion of the book, you will have the option to have your name published in the book as an editor - FOR FREE! The book is sold in Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sears, Kmart, eBay, and other online retailers.
Exciting! Totally worth not being paid!
I am applying right now! The book will be sold in SEARS and KMART!
I like that the person who wrote the ad knows you still might not want to have your name associated with the book...
Thanks, y'all. I think (hope!) it's a really good move. Although the people who work there keep warning me about how fucked up it is. But then, the people who work at my current job kept warning me about how fast-paced and overwhelming it is, and everyone here works 9-5. So.
