Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

I am working 8-6 tomorrow. (I am off today.) Sunday we might be going to my niece's birthday party (we only got invited yesterday, it is nearly 2 hours away, and Dillo gets barfy in cars, hence the maybeness.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I have my choir's big kickoff weekend, so that will take up most of the day Saturday and a good chunk of Sunday afternoon as well. Otherwise, I don't know. Hmm. Rose is definitely at the age where she's bored just sitting around the house all weekend, so we need to come up with some more fun stuff to do with her. Zoo, park, library, farmer's market... what else?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

flea,

can you give Dillo the wristbands? They really help me with carsickness.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Give him a sock.

Steph, I confused myself with your comment. First I was like, "masturbation reference?" then I was like "Potterverse elf freeing?" I am perhaps too tired.

I have folded all the clothes. I hate when there are multiple full baskets. I also hate when you are folding and you have a full set completed already and you look at the basket and realize you have just gotten to where the clothes are level with the basket's edge.

I work, allegedly, a 6 hour day. Or that's what I get paid for -- so I am contractually obligated to be at work from the hours of 7:52 - 3:29 with 25 minutes for lunch. You will notice that that's not 6 hours, but closer to 6 hours 30 minutes. This does not include all of the other loads of shit I do when I am not on the clock for those hours.

In other news, the gardeners just showed up so my dog is flipping out. I just want a nap which seems unlikely now.

brillig

My work day is 9-6 with an unpaid hour lunch. Due to the unanticipated suckiness of our latest release and the clusterfuck that is large companies upgrading to said latest release, I haven't gotten a lunch break of any sort in 2 months. Oh, but they bring in lunch for us to eat at our desks while we work! How generous! Free food because they appreciate us! No, free food because it's illegal not to let your employees eat at mealtimes, even in right to work states. There are people here who have never gotten the full hour lunch, due unwillingness/inability to get new people who will stay.

Certain supervisors will just blink at you in legitimate confusion and say, "But you're getting overtime. And free food. What else do you want?" Oh, I don't know, a freaking break? My nemesis criticized me for my lack of a sense of urgency the other day. Dude, my urgency in getting back to a single customer is not goign to change the fact that there are 23 people waiting in the phone queue with wait times of an hour and half. Perhaps you could harrass the couple of dozen other people in the room doing the exact same job I am?

I would enjoy seeing him eaten by zombies.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hopefully this weekend I will have my house cleaned (9AM on a Saturday! Dumb idea! Do Not Repeat!) and see a movie and draw the fuck out of everything.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Are Coursera, edX and/or duolingo free? I love me some knowledge, and miss classes.

Also, check out this AMAZING owl tattoo. [link]

If I weren't ethical, I would get it in a hot second. It is GORGEOUS. And if the artist weren't based in PR, I'd love to have him do my next tat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, this morning I was going to say I know someone who works at EdX, but I think I just overheard in the hallway that he got laid off, so.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yep. I've taken a few courses at Udacity, and liked them, but that's a somewhat different format. That dinosaur course mentioned sounds interesting.
