Faith: A kid. Angel's got a kid. Wesley: Connor. Faith: A teenage kid born last year. Wesley: I told you, he grew up in a hell dimension. Faith: Right. And what, Cordelia spent her last summer as… Wesley: A divine being. Faith: Uh-huh. Can I just ask--What the hell are you people doing?

brillig

My work day is 9-6 with an unpaid hour lunch. Due to the unanticipated suckiness of our latest release and the clusterfuck that is large companies upgrading to said latest release, I haven't gotten a lunch break of any sort in 2 months. Oh, but they bring in lunch for us to eat at our desks while we work! How generous! Free food because they appreciate us! No, free food because it's illegal not to let your employees eat at mealtimes, even in right to work states. There are people here who have never gotten the full hour lunch, due unwillingness/inability to get new people who will stay.

Certain supervisors will just blink at you in legitimate confusion and say, "But you're getting overtime. And free food. What else do you want?" Oh, I don't know, a freaking break? My nemesis criticized me for my lack of a sense of urgency the other day. Dude, my urgency in getting back to a single customer is not goign to change the fact that there are 23 people waiting in the phone queue with wait times of an hour and half. Perhaps you could harrass the couple of dozen other people in the room doing the exact same job I am?

I would enjoy seeing him eaten by zombies.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Insent, WindsSparrow.

I would enjoy seeing him eaten by zombies.

He sounds like a petite would-be tyrant.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hopefully this weekend I will have my house cleaned (9AM on a Saturday! Dumb idea! Do Not Repeat!) and see a movie and draw the fuck out of everything.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Are Coursera, edX and/or duolingo free? I love me some knowledge, and miss classes.

Also, check out this AMAZING owl tattoo. [link]

If I weren't ethical, I would get it in a hot second. It is GORGEOUS. And if the artist weren't based in PR, I'd love to have him do my next tat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, this morning I was going to say I know someone who works at EdX, but I think I just overheard in the hallway that he got laid off, so.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yep. I've taken a few courses at Udacity, and liked them, but that's a somewhat different format. That dinosaur course mentioned sounds interesting.

Duolingo and Coursera courses are free. I haven't worked with edX myself. I think you may have to pay a fee to get certificates and whatnot from some free courses, but if you're just in it for the knowledge, that's not an issue.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

that is a beautiful tattoo.

I love the fantasy of wishing someone would be eaten by zombies. There are a few people I would put in that category too. Mostly I just want about 3-5 people to fall down a sinkhole.

Cool! Once I have a little time, I'll have to check them out.

I am (when I am not working) turning myself into an unofficial "lawyer" at present. And doing pretty damned well at it, too. (Yes, we have an official lawyer. But I am Research and Proactive Girl, and when someone fucks with my family, I do not play around. But where's my damn $250 hour retainer?!)

To real lawyer Buffistas: not dissing real lawyers, but I am just researching KS Family Law statutes and acquiring shittons of carefully documented notarized evidence to rebut every perjurious accusation and spurious assertion, and seeking info on frivolous and vexatious lawsuits. It's fun!)

On that note, back to work-work!

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

"Potterverse elf freeing?"

That was it. Because Jesse said "Now you own him," and freeing a house-elf is the first thing that jumped into my mind.
