Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Song currently in my head: Worthy Is The Lamb, from Messiah, which is especially awesome since I'm not even singing that chorus this year! Oy.

Well, that's a better earworm than what was stuck in my head. I need to find my copy of the Messiah to listen to. I wish I'd kept up my voice from when I sang that in Oratorio Choir.

You can totally get it back, Connie. I mean, maybe not every note, but singing is a physical skill like any other, I think.

Is that strictly true, though? I thought voices got lower as we get older. I was a first soprano in college, and I'm 52 now. My alto range still works very nicely.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I think it's just a question of practicing in your upper range. I know several singers much older than you who continue to sing high (sometimes excessively high, in the case of one descant-loving member of my church!)

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Voices change to an extent, but mostly through your teens and twenties. The more you use it, and the more you challenge your range, the more of a range you will have.

(Also, thanks a lot, Jesse. WOOOOORTHY is the LAAAAAMB that was SLAAAAAIIIIN!)

The plumber that was supposed to show up today just called to cancel. I put on pants and everything.
