I think plain or cutesy underwear is one thing (Christmas boxers, "worlds best grandma" sleep shirt, six pack of basic cotton for a stocking-stuffer) but sexy stuff is a big NO.

Yeah, it's the sexiness of the thong, and the randomness of the gift from an acquaintance at the gym, that threw me. Also, in my head there's a distinction between everyday underwear and lingerie, which probably means I don't wear enough lingerie, but that's another discussion.

It does smack of "I had a spare thong and thought of you." Which is icky.

Because I was just contacted by the THIRD casting agent/casting director in two weeks with questions about finding goth or alternative types for reality shows and commercials.

Hmm. Is that how the industry works? Because if it does, then heck yeah I'll do that. I have a list of shiny things I would like to purchase, and if being a Professional Goth will get them for me, awesome!

Actually, this is a serious question, and I should probably talk to people who work in TV and entertainment. Can anyone give me a pointer to who I should be asking this stuff?

My big excitement for the day - there was a man hunt by my workplace (not on the property, but very nearby was what we were told) that shut down the highway. We were hearing helicopters all day, one of my co-workers swears she heard gunshots while she was outside, official advice to stay indoors, much consternation for the people who planned to go out for lunch. Some guy stabbed his girlfriend and fled the scene, the resulting chase was in our vicinity. He was shot but not killed and the stabbing victim was stable in the hospital last I heard, so pretty good outcome as these things go.
