I feel ready to be productive at work. I spent the day cleaning and organizing my desk amongst other things, complete with a new drawer system and a floor lamp. This disorganization was driving me mad. Now that I have places to put things, I can stop mixing stuff up for lack of horizontal surfaces. I even now have a freshly restocked filing cabinet full of oatmeal and granola bars (need more chai, though).
What's the best way to get permanent marker off a white desk besides white out? Magic eraser? Prayer?
Before that, though, I read Seventeen pretty religiously. I *loved* the big thick back-to-school issue in the fall.
Oh yes! There was a cover with black and yellow plaid that is vividly in my head still. I subscribed probably from age 12 to 15.
I am now moved into my new corner office. Which has a couch! And a window! Where I can See the "Hollywood" sign off in the distance if I stand up!
It startles me to hear of places closed on Mondays. I've always lived places where the standard is to be closed on Sunday, and visiting places where many things are open on Sunday is cognitive dissonance. "Wait, a public building open on a Sunday? And crowded?! What is this strange world!"
Yeah, it sounds kind of nice that they are all external to you, Suzi.
Absolutely. I have tried everything in my power to help him - logic, incentives, punishments, and more. I'm done. Let the chips fall where they may. He is already upset just knowing this is coming and I'm trying so hard to not put "I told you so" on repeat.
I was actually just discussing the "closed on Mondays" phenomena this morning. Yeah, Mondays suck, so it must be super awesome to not have to work that day, but it's also frustrating to those who need your services to have to wait a whole day at the beginning of a normal work week to get done what needs getting done.
Magic Eraser
Good to hear.
The Huntington Museum/Library was/is closed on Mondays, and the staff was always very happy to have a day where they weren't tripping over tourists.
Oh Suzi, this is one those parenting-is-hard! moments. I do hope the lesson sticks for him.
I am tired and listless and need to grade. Phooey.
Speaking of, Scrappy, wtf was happening this morning?
