No, it's shiny! I like to meet new people. They've all got stories...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am now moved into my new corner office. Which has a couch! And a window! Where I can See the "Hollywood" sign off in the distance if I stand up!

It startles me to hear of places closed on Mondays. I've always lived places where the standard is to be closed on Sunday, and visiting places where many things are open on Sunday is cognitive dissonance. "Wait, a public building open on a Sunday? And crowded?! What is this strange world!"

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

What's the best way to get permanent marker off a white desk besides white out? Magic eraser? Prayer?

Magic Eraser.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yeah, it sounds kind of nice that they are all external to you, Suzi.

Absolutely. I have tried everything in my power to help him - logic, incentives, punishments, and more. I'm done. Let the chips fall where they may. He is already upset just knowing this is coming and I'm trying so hard to not put "I told you so" on repeat.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was actually just discussing the "closed on Mondays" phenomena this morning. Yeah, Mondays suck, so it must be super awesome to not have to work that day, but it's also frustrating to those who need your services to have to wait a whole day at the beginning of a normal work week to get done what needs getting done.

Magic Eraser

Good to hear.

The Huntington Museum/Library was/is closed on Mondays, and the staff was always very happy to have a day where they weren't tripping over tourists.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Suzi, this is one those parenting-is-hard! moments. I do hope the lesson sticks for him.

I am tired and listless and need to grade. Phooey.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Speaking of, Scrappy, wtf was happening this morning?

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Oh dear Lord, one of my friends un-ironically referred to her dog as her furbaby on facebook today. Woman, you have an actual human child, who will probably be providing you with human grandchildren in the next few years!

I do know that many one-person barber shops close Mondays. Traditionally, the are open Saturdays, and close Mondays to give the Barber a two day weekend, while still having one day available on the weekend. In general, I think that makes sense for very small businesses that want to be somewhat available on weekends.
