Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think for color blocking you need to have more than one color in an article of clothing, but not in a print or pattern.

That's my understanding color-blocking also. Perhaps the definition has spread to include "wearing bright solid colors together that don't necessarily match"?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Perhaps the concept is evolving. I wear bright colors together willy-billy, so I kind of like the idea of putting a nice label on that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can I pretend to be color blocking when really I'm just wearing a red dress with black tights? Or would my purse need to be a different color. Actually, it is a very different red, so maybe I can get in under a technicality?

Maybe if you call the colors by different names?

Today is definitely the day to wear a black velvet cape to work, right? I mean, if not Halloween, when?

Yes!

I was very impressed with a coworker I saw walking away from me, way down the hall, and I said, "Who is that, the Hamburglar?" AND IT WAS.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Last night was my company's Halloween party, and office services set up the video wall as a giant karaoke machine with a DJ. It was AWESOME, except I realized I have no list of "good karaoke songs" in my head to pull out at times like this. When good songs come on, I instantly recognize them and sing along, but when it comes to choosing something for myself, I blank out. And this is a problem because I have a pretty good voice! And I like to sing!

SO. I am putting this to the hivemind. GIVE ME GOOD KARAOKE SONGS.

Last night I did Proud Mary (rocked it!) and Livin' On A Prayer (turns out I only know the chorus, oops!), but I need more.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

GIVE ME GOOD KARAOKE SONGS.

I've done very little karaoke, but I've always wanted to do "What's So Funny 'bout Peace, Love and Understanding."

I'm not sure I actually know that well enough, but I will add it to the list!

[Yes, there is an actual list. It's in Simplenote.]

Yeah, I have found the key thing is picking a song you actually know all the words to already. And also is in a good range for you. So, I think "Since U Been Gone" is a great karaoke song, but that's for me! Also anything by Madonna. Or at least, pre-1990 Madonna.
