Burrell, my belated condolences. Be kind to yourself.
Swim was short by kid barfing in lessons. I hate the start of a new session, there is always a new kid who hasn't acclimated/ got fed too much before lessons.
All I got.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Oh, I made a really tasty dinner, and it wasn't salad! I wanted soup; been craving it for a couple days. Took some miso-ginger broth, brought to a boil, toss in 3-4 handfuls of shredded cabbage, some black pepper and a little soyaki sauce (to make it spicier) until the cabbage softened but still had crunch. At the end, I tossed in some veggie gyoza that I'd cooked dry in the micro (to dry out the wrappers a bit) and dumped it all over baby spinach, and let that wilt.
Turned out better than I thought it might. Though, I guess it could be just considered a hot salad given I used about the same amount of greenery as I usually do...
Mmm, that sounds really good.
I was totally expecting it to be meh. I tossed in the spinach figuring I still wanted my fix, even if it was meh. I think it added an extra heft, but it would have been good without. God I love spinach.
Oh, Burrell, I'm so sorry for you and all your family. Be kind to yourselves, please.
Looks like oat flour is a thickener too. I'm using that in my soup, double the volume of cornstarch called for.
We'll see...
Holland Roden was bashful in comparison--she was one of many doing tacky photo ops at "Pow Wow" party.

I am at the Anger stage of my vacation--"I don't want to go back to work! Why does this happen?"
I don't have much hope for teh bargaining stage, as vacation is only good when you're being paid for it, and to have that you have to have a job. Perhaps the Acceptance stage will kick in before I actually have to go back to work on Sunday.
Yay Boston!

I really LOVE what they're doing with blankets this season--it's such a bold move, especially in conjunction with colour blocking¹
¹ What are the nuances here? How is colour blocking different from grabbing a navy pants, yellow blouse, white bag, and black shoes (aka me while being pattern averse, getting ready for a day out that doesn't involve super hero shirts. But colour blocking...that sounds cool I want to know how to do that.
During lunch break, I took extra time to look at people who were wearing clothes, and which ones were wearing outfits. I wondered how many were like me--wearing that one thing they like and a bunch of other stuff that doesn't suck.
If my photo a day project (whoops! still haven't posted today) was about my clothes, this would be hella boring hella quick.
