Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Jilli, I seem to remember combat grade umbrellas or parasols coming up a few months ago--can you re-orient me?

I've seen stuff about self-defense with parasols, but I don't think I've seen any combat grade umbrellas or parasols. Hmmm, time to go searching.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think I've seen any combat grade umbrellas or parasols

Thinking harder, I remember a link from LeN about umbrellasols that you can stand on without breaking, etc, and you said you had one. But that's all my memory contains.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Jilli have you seen these?

That reminds me, I meant to post [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Combat grade umbrellas/parasols make me think of Amelia Peabody Emerson, from the mysteries by Elizabeth Peters. (I know, not helpful)

And the Parasol Protectorate, of course.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Combat grade umbrellas make me think of John Steed.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Curiosity made me google. [link] They're pricy.

brillig

Wandering through our local Savers thrift store and spotted not one, but two tan trench coats with heavy fuzzy liners that fit! One was a London Fog and the other was a Stafford (Stanford?) For under $20! I got the Stafford because it was a skosh roomier. Yay, men's clothes! Yay, winter coat!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My ex boyfriend just bought Kaylee's parasol for me. I will probably never use it. And now I must keep it forever.

And ... not very aesthetically pleasing. I'll stick with my "Signature Bella Pagoda" . [link]
