I have no costume nor a need for a costume this year. I are sad.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I won't be dressing up, but it is so, SO tempting to put a costume on Finn.
I'll be sticking to carving pumpkins. I got two this year. One is short and wide, and I'm thinking of just carving a wide, wide smile with a lot of sharp, pointy teeth. The other is tall and thin, and it has a dent in it towards the bottom that looks like a scowl. I'm going to try to think of a way to work with that rather than hide it at the back.
I'm pretty excited that next year I will have a front stoop and little neighbors, to properly celebrate Halloween as a middle-aged lady. (I may throw on the Wonder Woman costume....)
trunk and treat is tomorrow night. so tomorrow after church I also need to bake something for cake walk, and buy lots of mini-pumpkins and gather decorating supplies. ugh. I am so unmotivated.
I think my extent of dressing up will be plopping my tiara on my head. I do have a hair appointment on the 31st, so I know my gal will notice. Beyond that...we don't even get trick or treaters.
I don't think I've had a trick-or-treater since I lived in a townhouse in DC in 1995. I thought some might come when there were kids in my apartment building in Queens, but no.
Baby!Ferg won't be dressed for the holiday, but I say put on the Batman onesie, even if it's for six months (he's pretty tiny) and call that a day. Also, send pictures to Tita.
Apparently all I had to do was post about it to motivate me to get this costume together. Will post prelim pics soon.
Posting makes things happen!
JZ's been diligently sewing Matilda's costume for the last week, including taking it out to today's soccer game where Jacqueline stitched away at it.
Matilda is going as Suki, the Kyoshi Warrior, from Avatar: The Last Airbender (the animated version, 'natch).
