Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sean sorry the job hunt isn't going smoothly.
I need to be in bed. There was a midnight launch for titan fall and the guy working the opening shift worked. And called out so I got to work a double and I open tomorrow. Every one else who worked the launch also opened and showed up.
Oh and we are supposed to get 10-20" of snow and white out conditions tomorrow.
In sucky job news, my sister got "early retired" from her employer of 27 years. They have gone through several office managers in the past couple years and the latest one really did not like her. Of course sis didn't exactly appreciate the string of people coming in as her boss 'knowing' so much more about the operations there than she did.
They claimed she wasn't catching on to the new software they implemented fast enough. Which was not remotely true since the other employees were going to sis to help them figure it out. She had to read the manual because they held the training upstairs and she can't climb stairs.
It all sucks mightily because at 64 with plenty of medical issues getting another job isn't likely to happen. I have a huge backlog of work so I told her it worked for me because I sure needed her. Still rotten stuff.

That sounds like ADA territory.
That also sounds like blatant age-ism. Grrrrr.
That also sounds like blatant age-ism.
Age-ism is pretty blatant all around.
I just got hired for a part time faculty position at a nearby community college and apparently at 42 I meet some sort of federal or state guideline that helps prove that they will hire old people. I had three or four forms to fill out that were very specific about noting that I was over 40.
That sounds like ADA territory.
Yes it does. Rotten for her, Laura, glad you can be there for her.
ND that is very interesting. Being on the hiring committee this year meant learning a little bit about the kookiness that is hiring for diversity (which is the word they use around our campus for under represented groups). Diversity is like fight club: the first rule of diversity status is that you cannot mention it AT ALL during the hiring process.
Yeah, this didn't have anything to do with getting the job, but after the fact there were a few forms where it was one of the bits of data being gathered. It seemed pretty clear that in some way being over 40 was now a big deal.
People are calling from all over the country demanding police take further action on that cat attack situation because obviously they know more about cat abuse/child abuse from the 3 paragraph articles they have read on the interwebs than the responding police officers sussed out while there on the scene.
WTH? I, to have many questions with the story as presented, but I posted them on my Facebook page and moved on. It wouldn't occur to me to call emergency services halfway across the country and get all up in it.
It never occurs to me that I might be a saner person than others.
