People are calling from all over the country demanding police take further action on that cat attack situation because obviously they know more about cat abuse/child abuse from the 3 paragraph articles they have read on the interwebs than the responding police officers sussed out while there on the scene.
WTH? I, to have many questions with the story as presented, but I posted them on my Facebook page and moved on. It wouldn't occur to me to call emergency services halfway across the country and get all up in it.
It never occurs to me that I might be a saner person than others.
From "the things I learned from the Buffistas" file:

my first year handling 911 and non emergency calls I was constantly wondering how some people are able to figure out how to put on their shoes and walk out the front door, much less dial a phone. Now I just hope for them to drink enough that they forget how to do those things.
Feeling a bit overly jaded and crankified tonight. Seeing a new physical therapist tomorrow and fingers crossed that has some more insight than....all the other physical therapists and specialists i've seen in the last 7 months.
I just got hired for a part time faculty position at a nearby community college and apparently at 42 I meet some sort of federal or state guideline that helps prove that they will hire old people.
This is interesting because, in the sciences at least, it is hard to get an entry level job before you are in your mid-thirties. It takes grad school and two or three post-docs just to build a strong enough record to get an interview. We interview people for beginning Assistant Professor jobs who already have 30 publications. A generation ago you needed two or three. It's like you need to put in long-term indentured servitude just to get a job these days.
Do we need another kitten cam? Jackson Galaxy linked to this one on Facebook [link]
I just put my fundraiser post up on Tumblr. Asking for help is terrifying.
Oooh, kitten cam! Yes, that will help.
Jilli, I think you wrote it really well. Asking for help when you need it is a good thing!
Is there a word for that chittering clacking sound cats make when they see a bird they want that they can't get to?

"Mycroft, you dumbass, you do realize what the window means?"
Or did you want one word?

"Bird! Bird! Bird! Birdbirdbirdbirdbird - ooh a bug! Bugbugbugbug!"
Tho' in our house, it is also the sound of Vlad rediscovering his mortal enemies, the kitchen chairs.
