We're ok. 2014 is proving to be as challenging as 2013, so we're less than thrilled with that development. I had such high hopes for the new year!

Oh, vw. I'm sorry that you're having another challenging year. You deserve good things!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Happy birthday, Pix and Maria! Much love to you both.

I'm sorry 2014 isn't better for you, but it's great to see your pixels, vw.

Amyth is home (she lives next door to me) which is a relief. The roads around here are getting pretty scary. The traffic reports say many of the major highways are gridlocked. I'm much happier knowing that my local peeps are safe.

Oh, yay for Amyth making it home! How scary!

We're pregnant, which is very exciting. But, the doctors are concerned about lagging fetal growth. So, we're in this limbo. We were just starting to tell people when we had the concerning ultrasound, and it's just taken the wind out of our sails. And my darling husband has had several job interviews, but none of them have led anywhere. He is beyond frustrated, and the baby stress is just intensifying that frustration and stress.

(PS We're not ready to announce on Facebook yet, so please keep this conversation here.)

Compassionately intolerant

Our loan has been funded!

I seriously got choked up when I read this. What an ordeal this has been for you two. Happy birthday indeed!

Laura is me in this way.

How wonderful for you Pix and ND! Well deserved, hard fought and what a frickin' relief!!

I'm clappyhandshappy for you.

And Epic said to you, Sean, what I would have about the journey being one foot in front of the other, rather than having the whole thing figured out right now. Her path is very similar to mine and look how happy we are!!

In fact, I had this same conversation with a therapy client just one hour ago...which led me to an interesting notion.

In as much as I have struggled to find my niche, I'm wondering if it might be 37 year old professional women who are considering total career changes.

That seems to be mighty specific, and yet, it is a sweet spot of mine.

vw, I swear I was just thinking when I saw your first post, "I wonder if vw is pregnant". I'm sorry that there are concerns with the pregnancy. All sorts of ~ma headed your way. And job~m for your DH. He's such a great guy and so talented, people should be beating down the door to give him a job.

That is very exciting, vw! I hope the doctors are caring and compassionate and help you to figure this all out rather than leaving you trapped by a lack of wind, to stick with your metaphor. My best thoughts for a happy outcome.

Thanks, sj.

Sparky1, the doctors have been more than amazing. The high risk specialist is not my favorite, but I don't think that's the fault of him personally. I think I wouldn't be taking the news well from really anyone. My OB is fantastic, though, and answers all of my questions and concerns. I've been really trying hard to not visit Dr. Google, which means the doctors get a lot of questions from me. I have to admit that I left the ultrasound yesterday (when they started throwing around "triploidy") and felt like sticking my fingers in my ears and saying, "lalalalalalalalalala."
