I'm sorry you had such a rough night last night, Aims.
AS A CHILD YOU WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UNCONTROLLED EMOTIONS OF YOUR PARENTS! THEY WERE THE G-D GROWN-UPS!
I'm repeating that because *I* need to see it again. Dear Buffista parents who are aware of your issues and working on dealing with them, I love and respect you. So much.
(My parents were wonderful, but the combination of my mom's unacknowledged/unspoken about depression and her fight with leukemia means I have a lot of issues around trying to make people happy and fix everything. Working on emotional health is
hard.)
So yes, fuzzy blankets and puppies and kittens and baby bats for everyone.
(Come back! I didn't mean to kill the thread!)
I'm still spamming natter with animal pics.
I'm out of surgery. Everything went well as far as I know. I'm drinking ginger ale and waiting for crackers.
yay! glad to hear from you.
Yay, sj!
I didn't get offered ginger ale post surgery. I'm jealous now.
Right on, sj! So glad it went well!
Yay SJ! And cheers for everyone able to acknowledge their mental health issues and finding ways to keep moving forward. This place is such a good resource, there's always someone up and around.
And yes, I *love* the breaks from real emergencies for bizzarre requests. It's impressive how many people think police will shovel for them as a public service to fend off cabin fever. Nope, they're too busy dealing with the people fighting, rollover accidents, cars off the road, and shootings and stabbings. Yes, people still shoot and stab each other during snow storms. I know, we all wish they'd give it a break....but they don't. Also robberies...and those bad guys are way easier to track in heavy snow.
I give the lady asking for fire fighters to shovel the parking lot props for originality: everyone else thinks police will do it, she at least asked for the fire dept and had Reasons to back up that choice. They were not Valid Reasons, but still. A nice break in the day of alarms and car accidents :)
