Simon: I, uh... I never-never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I want to wrap you all in warm emotionally safe comfort blankets.

This. Aims, I'm sorry you had a rough night.

We're headed for the hospital in a few minutes. I am so damn hungry.

I also wanted to hide the reaction from Emeline, because she loves her grandparents and I don't want to make her afraid of them. I don't know how or if I even should address that past with her when she's older. Hmmmm ... that's an interesting thought.

I hope you do. I think too many families keep secrets. And it's one thing to not tell her as a kid, or to be trying not to let your relationship past affect her relationship with them, but I think knowing things about your parents like that helps you understand them, and can help make sense of tensions and undercurrents you might've been aware of but not understanding, as a kid.

We probably will, at some point. Along with the fact that neither of her grandfathers are biologically related to her and that she has a biological grandfather living in the state that has never met her. And that there is a nice, long line of mental illness that she's a part of.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Maybe give her all that as a Birthday present when she is 16, because a gift of issues is perfect for a hormone riddled teen (found out about grandfather's alcoholism at 15/16).

Oh!! And the sexual abuse of my great-grandmother at the hands of her father which is why that line of my family is American and not Canadian.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ah, I'm glad I could be there. Aims did the hard work, I just witnessed and validated it.

Yeah, there's some shit in my family that Doesn't Get Talked About (like how some of my mom's family was not thrilled that she married a Jew, f'rintstance) and I think it's better to talk about it. Sometime after she realizes that parents are Just People with their own issues, maybe.

Everyone gets the magic blankets and a lap to lay down in so your hair can be smoothed while soothing coos are made in your general direction. The stuff you should have gotten as kids.

I got this as a kid sometimes and it still sounds AWESOME. I snuggled with Frankie extra much this morning.

No work again today. Plan is to work on a side project for a friend, go sell some books (not out of desperation, out of decluttering), do some other decluttering stuff, maybe an admin work thing or two, get something going in the slow cooker... and not get overwhelmed. That part is key.
