[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Bleurgh! No, that is not happy-making, Strix.

No, it gives me a sad. I LOVE Earl Grey!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That does suck. Do you think it might make "meh" foods taste awesome? There ought to be some sort of upside.

Strix, how long have you been on this med? Maybe the side effects are temporary.

I'm getting my hair done. I almost didn't make it to the appointment because I finally got some sleep and now my body wants all the sleep.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Somebody please tell me to stop FB-trolling college friends and looking at their pictures of happy families with adorable babies and husbands and wives that are still around. Oh, and let's not forget about their awesome jobs.

My life is good. I know this. But it is not the life I expected to lead. In some ways, it is more awesome, but today it doesn't feel like that.

And next Saturday I have to go act all happy at my cousin's girlfriend's baby shower, when all I want to do is scream that I did everything right and nothing worked out.

Jilli, you are not an impostor, at work or anywhere else. I'm sorry your brain is being mean to you.

Strix, that is aggravating, but I hope the AD does its job and makes things better for you.

That's kinda how I feel about my oldest nephew's wife's baby bump pics. le sigh

Maria, I'll stop if you will. One of my friends from high school just had her 6th baby.

Thrive to spite them

Mom's been here to visit and she'll be here until Wed when she goes back.

I still have to buy Cinderella tickets. But she got to meet my Kid Friend (not sure how to refer to her, I could call her Kid A I guess -her first name starts with an A) and told her we were going, so she's happy. She had all of her end of the year stuff so I got to see some of her homework and projects.

I wanted to take mom to a state park that's really pretty but I got confused about where it was, but that's okay.

And I have a new couch! Well vintage couch. My current couch is this ugly 80s office couch that I got from my former neighbor (I traded her a recliner for the couch and Penny) and she got it from the side of the road. The side of the road is where it will return.

I don't know how to describe the new couch, it's low slung, has a slight camel back, and nail/rivet details. I think it needs to be resprung and the paisley fabric is kind of worn. But it's comfy. Originally we were looking at a microfiber modern couch, but got the paisley one, 2 end tables, and delivery for less than the modern couch.

I just need an ottoman, haven't found one that's the right height and price. Tomorrow I'm taking Mom to the Shelburne Musuem. She told me Manet is her favorite artist, but she's never seen his work in person. Tomorrow she will.

The weather has been really nice. And I'm glad Mom is here. We also got some stuff straightened out at Verizon with the phones. We're on the same plan. I guess the sales guy was confused about our relationship, Mom was on the phone with someone giving them authorization for something, and the salesman refered to mom as "your wife".

Which was kind of cool and kind of ew that's my mom! at the same time. It was such a non thing for him to jump to that relationship conclusion based on how we talked to each other.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The bad feels happen, Maria. And they suck. And eventually they go away again.
