Simon: I, uh... I never-never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Shir, normally that gets discussed in the F2F thread Lee "F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us" Oct 13, 2013 4:01:08 pm PDT . As far as I know the big F2F weekend has not been planned for this year and I cannot even remember off-hand which region it is meant to be held in (They take turns between East Coast, West Coast and the middle). Smaller, less formal ones happen as Buffistas travel near one another. So to some extent if you say where and when you are planning to be, those who can possibly get to you, will join in the fun.

The status is NOT quo.

We didn't have one last year officially, but it would have been east coast. This year would be middle if someone wants to plan it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hmmm.

Ah fuck. Some bad work stuff (completely my own idiot fault) looks like it has just hit the fan. I see an email with the first line in preview and I really really don't want to open it. Aaaagh. While it's not a firing offense, it is a thing where normally if it happened maybe it shouldn't have but it would be no big deal because they'd be like "oh, ok, I should've done that" but in this case they were like "wtf that's for us to do and not you" and complained instead, and I suspect this'll be a whole "now we need to write up a report and call the compliance people and make you do retraining" and not trust me again to know what I'm doing. (Which sucks because the one woman already thinks I'm a moron, but that's just because she's a bitch--but now she will feel JUSTIFIED).

Still haven't read the email. Did some other work (prep to fly out later this afternoon), packed my bag, am ready to go other than needing to read and begin dealing with email. ...still can't look. Sick feeling in stomach. Can I just hide under my desk and not ever talk to anyone again?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have done that in the past and have been told that is not a quote grown-ass adult way to handle things end-quote.

Personally, I call shenanigans and think it's perfectly legit.

Oh FFS. They are calling school again tomorrow. At this point a) Emeline will be in the 4th grade FOREVER and 2) I will never get to work!!

meara - Jan 07, 2014 10:29:46 am PST #7898 of 30002

I am now envisioning a tall, skinny, teenage Emeline in 4th grade.

I think it is a totally legit way to...well, to NOT handle things. Maybe not a GOOD way, but...um, yeah.

...I did finally read it. It basically said "We were told you did this thing, you aren't supposed to do that thing, that was Very Bad, and we will be telling your manager in our next meeting with her".

...ugh. On the one hand, that drags the pain out (and makes my meeting next Monday morning with my manager even more dreaded, and less of a good time to ask about the advanced training I was supposed to be submitted for, damnit!!!). On the other hand, at least it's not saying "and now we have to bring other departments into this to make an inquiry/report"? Still feel sick. Ugh ugh ugh.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Was it a thing you did on accident or thought you were supposed to do?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Talk to your manager about it now.
