Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey, has anyone dealt with Mastoiditis...the kind of ear infection that causes a lump in the lymph node behind the ear?

I don't have a fever, diminished hearing, headache or any of the other symptoms except for a small lump and redness.

So far, I've flushed the ear with alcohol/vinegar and taken a hot bath. The lump has softened and gone down a bit, but is still tender.

It seems premature to go to a doctor without a fever, but I'd like to do whatever I can do to avoid that anyway.

Um. I may have a date on Sunday.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

:: Whistles innocently ::

Good idea. Best to get all the innocence out of your system before Sunday.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Best to get all the innocence out of your system before Sunday.

Hear hear!

Connie, I'm so glad the test went well. Continued~ma.

bonny, health~ma.

And now, a question. That mysterious F2F thing you're having from time to time? Where can one who will purchase her tickets to the U.S. within the next two weeks find more information about it (date and location)?

(You have no idea how much joy it brings to me to think that I'll see you guys in six months in person. That check was the best wedding gift ever).

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Shir, normally that gets discussed in the F2F thread Lee "F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us" Oct 13, 2013 4:01:08 pm PDT . As far as I know the big F2F weekend has not been planned for this year and I cannot even remember off-hand which region it is meant to be held in (They take turns between East Coast, West Coast and the middle). Smaller, less formal ones happen as Buffistas travel near one another. So to some extent if you say where and when you are planning to be, those who can possibly get to you, will join in the fun.

The status is NOT quo.

We didn't have one last year officially, but it would have been east coast. This year would be middle if someone wants to plan it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hmmm.

Ah fuck. Some bad work stuff (completely my own idiot fault) looks like it has just hit the fan. I see an email with the first line in preview and I really really don't want to open it. Aaaagh. While it's not a firing offense, it is a thing where normally if it happened maybe it shouldn't have but it would be no big deal because they'd be like "oh, ok, I should've done that" but in this case they were like "wtf that's for us to do and not you" and complained instead, and I suspect this'll be a whole "now we need to write up a report and call the compliance people and make you do retraining" and not trust me again to know what I'm doing. (Which sucks because the one woman already thinks I'm a moron, but that's just because she's a bitch--but now she will feel JUSTIFIED).

Still haven't read the email. Did some other work (prep to fly out later this afternoon), packed my bag, am ready to go other than needing to read and begin dealing with email. ...still can't look. Sick feeling in stomach. Can I just hide under my desk and not ever talk to anyone again?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have done that in the past and have been told that is not a quote grown-ass adult way to handle things end-quote.

Personally, I call shenanigans and think it's perfectly legit.
