I've had some really fun New Year's Eves (usually followed by the worst hangovers EVER), and some lousy ones. I'd be happy staying home and chilling out, but Tim is a big extrovert and likes to go out. Our besties are having a small shindig, so we're going over there, which should be fun.
True story: last year, when I thought Tim was going to propose because of something I overheard him saying to his dad on the phone, I suggested we get dressed up for the New Year's Eve party we went to, because, hey, if he was going to propose, wouldn't it be great if we were all dressed up?
You all know how that worked out. (Still a fun party, though.)
I have no plans for NYE and it bums me out. I don't want crazy parties, but I hate being home alone, too.
We are going to a beer dinner that the brewery invited us to, gratis. However, we just got hone last night, I feel like ass, and I have a bunch of work to do for a deadline I have tomorrow, so I kind of wish we weren't going. But we will.
Ugggghhhhhhh, I need to get out of bed.
I hope the medical stuff goes as well as possible, Ginger.
Tonight I'm rewatching S2 Sherlock, in preparation for the next season. A couple of friends will be joining me. Tomorrow I'll be going to my upstairs neighbor's annual New Year's brunch. I think I've been going to this for over 10 years now, and I've enjoyed watching various friends' families grow up along the way.
I may be doing something fairly epic for NYE. Or it could fall through. I'll pretty much not know until the last minute... and I reserve the right to be all NYE LIKES CARROTS for a few days if this goes off.
Calli, don't forget to light amyth's Summoning Candle. And have fun! I miss A's parties and watching things with y'all.
On the ground in St. Louis, waiting for a gate. Hungry! I hope I have time to grab something.
I have only had one truly special New Year's. And every year I'm like "I'm gonna try new things!" and mostly end up cutting my hair and decorating my rut. But I have found that people take me a bit more seriously as a redhead.
Oh, and vegatarian korma is good the first day, but hardens alarmingly as a leftover.
Alright, so I WON'T be VIP for Fall Out Boy in Times Square tonight. That's alright. Whatever DOES one wear when it's no degrees and a billion people are watching?
Aw, too bad, Trudy. That would have been epic.
This is the first NYE/NYD we've both had off (I'd usually work NYE, M would usually open at 6 a.m. NYD), so our plans are up in the air tonight, but we'll start at 6 a.m. tomorrow, listening to a friend's band and eating black-eyed peas and other tasty noshes.
I need to do some sort of ritual tonight. Put candles in all my skull candle holders and burn some incense, maybe.
