Cass, wrod. I miss Tempe sometimes. For it and for falafel places.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sean, sorry to hear about your crappy day. Omnis gives really excellent advice, fwiw. I also think it would be really good for you to do some practice interviews with those of us who hire people in our own line of work--ND, me, BC, and more--we can practice with you and give you feedback about how to answer some of the common questions, how to answer the education question without shame, and what to avoid. Practice will make it more comfortable, even if you are just applying for a retail job. No pressure--just want to offer if you think it would be helpful. Localistas could do in person interviewing, but you could practice phone interviews or Skype with anyone from the board.
So Hubby's been having bad gut pains for a long time and has been pushing his doctors to find out what's going on. He had a PET scan on Monday, and he talked to our doctor today for the results. He's off gaming at the moment, so I don't know what he found out. But there's a piece of paper on the bed with a phone number and the word Oncology.
Perhaps it's just more tests. Perhaps it's just double checking. Perhaps all the frequent radioactive tests he's been getting over the years have caught up with him. Perhaps.
Health ~ma for your Hubby, Connie, no matter what it is.
much ~ma, Connie.
oh Connie. Couldn't he have left you with a note!?! Gads!
good vibes and ma, regardless.
It's nothing serious ~ma to your Hubby, Connie. I'm sorry you're left worrying until he comes home. Not knowing is the worst.
Tons of health~ma for your hubby, Connie.
========== Sean, the hardest part is starting. Inertia/momentum, what ever you want to call it. Once you have some, it does get easier. Keep your chin up. Don't give up. Hope is a powerful thing. You have a room full of people here who believe in you. And like Pix says, we are here to help.
As you make your walks around, and inquiries, it might be a good idea to keep a log, of who you talked to, what date, and what business.
Health~ma for Niki and for Connie's DH.
Sean, what they all said. I have a GED too, and I have always treated it like a high school diploma. Speaking as someone who works in hiring, for many, many jobs college is less important than experience and intelligence.
