[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

What a wonderful photo, bt! Ryan's shining smiles make every thing better. He never fails to make me smile.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Goodness, Ryan is getting big! I'm glad the two of you had a good weekend.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ryan is getting big. That was EPIC geekery weekend.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Sounds like a good date.

What an epic geekery father and son weekend. Wonderful!

I have Doctor Who purchased from iTunes and streaming now. I should be dealing with family stuff that just was told to me that I don't feel up to dealing with, or ex-friend stuff that made me bristly yesterday and I don't trust myself to deal with yet and an ex-gf who just got back in touch and that's actually awesome news but I owe her an email. I am watching Dr Who instead.

And eating a breakfast burrito. Because I unearthed potatoes when rearranging the freezer after moving the turkey to the refrigerator to thaw. How is it possible that Thanksgiving is near enough that I need to start a turkey thawing? Doesn't matter, I've got Doctor Who.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I offered to make green bean casserole, which I've never made before, because my aunt gave me 3 or 4 bags (which hold ~5 cups each) of frozen green beans from her garden. So I would like to get some of them out of the freezer, and Thanksgiving is here, so...casserole. I looked online for recipes, and they seem fairly straightforward. The fried canned green bean company must live for Thanksgiving and be depressed the rest of the year.

I suspect it's like the turkey farm I used to drive past. Full of turkeys. They half were gone before Thanksgiving. The other half before Christmas. Few months later, all new tiny turkeys that had until before Thanksgiving or before Christmas to get bigger.

In my "I will get some things done!" glee, I might have started the loud long-cycled dishwasher while I'm also trying to watch Doctor Who. Damn.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is that Ryan?! I'm stunned! He's such a big boy! Sounds like you had a wonderful geeky father-son weekend, and wow, he slew dragons!

omnis, that sounds to me like the best possible first date! Glad it went well!

My family is having Thanksgiving here in the "little house" instead of in the "big house" this year, and I wish I could catch a quick bout of the flu. At least I don't have to drive 2.5 hours there and back for the joy of being uncomfortable and listening to people fuss at each other.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I just looked up the recipe for the sausage stuffing that I'm taking to Thanksgiving. I also started a load of laundry. I don't have to be productive for the rest of the day, right? I can bimble around on eBay and browse super-frilly gothic heroine nightgowns? (Too big for me, but just the sort of thing I'm looking for.)
