You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I hope to emulate you, Cass.

New refrigerator is very clean. Perhaps I should take a picture to remember what a clean refrigerator looks like.

Now I need to buy all the foods, but I don't feel like it. I don't think pickles were an adequate supper.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Right now, I am full of zeal for reforming my slovenly refrigerator ways.

When we lost power for 4 days several years ago, we had to throw out 90% of the stuff in the fridge and freezer (we kept things like pickles, pickled ginger -- anything preserved in vinegar we figured probably was going to be okay, and as it turned out, it was). That inspired a gloriously clean and organized fridge.

Yeah, that's how we rolled when Isaac came through last year.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I still do a double take on that name.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

No apology necessary

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

home from date. On the whole, it went well. We both arrived at the theater within a couple minutes of each other. Got to our seat with 10-15 minutes to spare. Some fun pre-show chat. The Hunger Games was a good flick. (for the record, if you go see the movie, before taking your seat, GO TO THE BATHROOM! Sorry for the ascaps, but seriously. It's 2.5 hours long. And if you get a drink... you best empty before sitting). We both made a series of quiet quips at the screen, and had some cute laughs. After the movie, she said she made reservations for a restaurant down the street, do we want to eat? Sure! We had nice dinner talk. About 3 hours worth! All good. She's cute. Funny. Laughs at my jokes. Smart. All in all, good conversation. Not sure if it will amount to anything. There was good friendship-y type of talk. Not sure if there was any chemistry feelings. We shall see.

When I got home, the skies were on the clear side. So I grabbed the telescope, and dragged it out to the porch. Got a great view of Jupiter and 4 moons. It was great tonight. Crisp! Some some bands. No red eye storm. But hey. The 4 moons were BRIGHT!. Then spotted Uranus to the right, and zoomed in on that. It was just a bright blop of light. No details. Still cool.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm glad you had such a great time on your date and after, omnis.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Good date, omnis. Glad you had fun.

I've had a great weekend. Biyi was in Tassie for work training -- not what made it a good weekend, though it did have one knock-on effect, namely I spent a lot of time with our little boy. In the absence of his mother's moderating influence, we geeked out in epic fashion. The highlights:

1. This morning, he and I watched the Day of the Doctor (in the company of my youngest brother, who stayed the night so as to catch the 6:50 a.m. screening time). Ryan was hooked, though it did get too scary for him at one point. (He then told us that we should turn the TV off because we'd been watching for a while and too much television is bad for your eyes.)

2. On Saturday, he played his first ever game of Dungeons and Dragons. We used these simplified rules: [link] For his first game, I grabbed the minis closest to hand and Ryan then found himself in charge of a band of heroes helping a simple farmer rescue his flying horse from a band of ruffians. He demanded a repeat performance on Sunday morning, and requested that this time around, he should fight monsters. He can now add four dragons to his list of conquests, finishing the fight with a superb arrow shot that needed a 15+ to hit.

For the next game, he says that he wants to fight aliens. I think Doctor Who made quite an impression.

(Before dinner we went to the local park -- which has skating ramps and such like -- so he could ride his scooter. He's really coming along with his balance and his confidence. Not that he's about to reverse drop into the half-pipe or anything.)

I collected Biyi from the city at 8:45 tonight -- she'd made it that far from the airport on the kindness of friends. Ryan came along too as a special surprise for her. It was past his bedtime, but he was missing his Mummy and excited to see her again.

This was my first weekend after finishing my exam (on Monday). I rather like having the family time. Meanwhile, I've been dreadfully remiss about uploading family photos of late, but here's a recent one I quite like: [link]
